They tape Friday's show on Thursday so the girls can have a short weekend. I saw the show today and it was all about rescue dogs. I was hoping it would be live but it was not.

Am I correct in remembering that the wonderful TALC ladies were at MSG? Have we seen any of their videos? I want to send some to a friend and I'm hoping they got a front clear view of Killer Queen. I think the TALC ladies said they were going to party a bit last night and would start working on the videos today. However Jesha84 has this - I think she's one of them. Killer Queen starts at 4:30, but Lap of Gods is awfully good, too...

Earlier this evening I spent some quality time snuggling with my 3-year-old on the couch. I was watching a few MSG vids and was happy to have her join in, and offer commentary. It was priceless: (Upon seeing the arm fringe): "can a boy wear that?" "Anybody can wear whatever they want" "I want some!" "Why are there red lights?" "Where did the red lights go?" "Why is he blue now?" Why are they doing that?" (Bowing) "Why is he wearing a crown?" "Is that (the microphone) gold? That's too much gold." ...<S>uffice to say she was both transfixed and bewildered. She loved that they're called Queen, too. Awwww....so cute. Kiddo's really paying attention if she's asking the lighting questions. I remember the boy/girl clothing issues coming up at three too. Wait - how is she three already? I remember you posting when she was an infant!! ACK!

To add, the "delay" is the effect they use on Now I'm Here in the beginning to get his voice repeating a few times, and also layer the harmonies. In fact, the effect in MSG was so strong that "I'm Just A..." came out twice with the same strength, although he sang it just once Brian uses a similar approach during his solo by delaying the guitar to mix several layers over time... At several points during the show, the sound engineers enabled the reverb effect to smooth out some of his long notes. Esp. in a huge arena like this where the sound bounces around for a while, having the additional reverb probably makes things sound more continuous. Thanks so much for the explanations, you two. There is certainly a lot to know about singing and sound! Do you suppose the reviewer would know about reverb/delay? Still curious about what he meant by backing tracks, maybe he was talking about the reverb/delay.
Boy, never realized the extent of the sound engineers job! Good thing there is a highly skilled person to be on the receiving end of Adam's many hand signals.
I think he might be hearing Roger's vocals assuming I'm correct and he can sing pretty high and at times sounds just like Adam? Several times Adam stops singing all together and yet a full phrase (not just a note) comes floating thru that sounds just like the tracks at GNT. I was watching one of the vids this last week and was going to ask who it was singing so I imagine I'm hearing it in STL. If I see it again I'll remember to ascertain the time frame and post the video.

Adam Lambert Fan club Brian, Roger, Adam and Freddie Take NYC By Storm ~ Mayra Bitsko
Madison Square Garden was rocking tonight with Brian May on guitar, Roger Taylor and son Rufus Taylor on drums, and Adam Lambert as lead. Exuberant Adam was sensational to say the least. Flashbacks of the one and only legend Freddie Mercury appeared throughout the night. Moreover, Queen programmed Freddie to sing with Brian and Adam on two different occasions, which in turn brought tears to many. Freddie is gone but not forgotten. Adam beautifully sang major songs such as Under Pressure, Radio Gaga, Fat Bottom Girls, Crazy Little Thing Called Love and of course We Are The Champions. Lambert did not imitate Freddie in any way. In fact, he paid respect to the legend with a touching speech on how Freddie is the one and only, how he can never be replaced and how grateful he was to be able to sing these amazing songs. Nevertheless, Lambert together with Queen gave the fans a concert to remember. And without a doubt, Adam put his mark on that stage tonight. A genuine collaboration and respect was visible among Roger, Brian and Adam. Queen and Adam are a match Made In Heaven. You either loved the show or hated. There is no in between. I, a huge fan of Freddie and Queen, loved the show. I hope Freddie was looking down upon his former band mates and Adam. I’m sure he would have been proud. Thank you Queen for keeping Freddie alive. Thank you Adam for being the best front man for Queen since the legend himself. Source Link ~ tinyurl.com/kurzzcd
