Mr Reviewer, you are ignoring the most important component of your question as to why. Not everything is about money and/or ego. Well, maybe it is for you. But here is, imo, the reason they are doing these shows: It is the fans. Who do not seem to figure into your equations. But as a fan, seeing 15,000 people on their feet, being happy, remembering a time in their lives, discovering a legend, makes me happy. And grateful that these wonderful ROCK LEGENDS have given us this enormous treat. The fact that they don't NEED to do it makes it all the sweeter. What a gift for us. Things I Won't Let Into My Happiness 1. Worrying about a performance based on what I hear on a stream 2. Silly ostentatious inflated reviewers. Note to self: *remember, they've got this*

WOW OUCH NYPost is even worse.
I would love to read the responses to these articles by peeps that were at the show. Surely the reviewers are going to get clobbered! Hope so

Is Adam wearing a Greek cross in his ear? Does anyone know? It's an Ankh. Ankh From Wikipedia Ankh The ankh (/ˈæŋk/ or /ˈɑːŋk/; Egyptian: IPA: [ʕaːnax]; U+2625 ☥ or U+132F9 ????), also known as key of life, the key of the Nile or crux ansata (Latin meaning "cross with a handle"), was the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic character that read "life", a triliteral sign for the consonants ꜥ-n-ḫ. It represents the concept of eternal life, which is the general meaning of the symbol.[citation needed] The Egyptian gods are often portrayed carrying it by its loop, or bearing one in each hand, arms crossed over their chest.

Curious, because I can't open the NYT site - is there any attendee feedback to the review? Not knee-jerk stuff, but reasonable responses? The NY Times allows comments on only some of their articles. They typically do not allow comments on reviews, which is the case for this concert. So no opportunity to comment on the stupidity of Jon Pareles' review ("Canned back-up vocals"? Maybe Mr Pareles has attended too many Kesha concerts). I have to say that usually I don't care what reviews say, and particularly in the case of the QAL tour. The fact is that this tour is an unmitigated success for Queen and Adam. Ticket sales have been great and it looks like all of the audiences have been enthusiastic. The band is on fire. And, according to Aleks' analysis, the vast majority of the reviews have been positive. Not sure that the response could be better than it has been. There will always be nay-sayers and the disgruntled -- there is no way to please everyone. But I think Queen + Adam and the fans should be extremely pleased with the way this has all played out. And I think Brian, Roger and Adam are fulfilling a few dreams ... Brian and Roger are playing "all of these beautiful arenas" again, and feeling all of the love from the crowds. And Adam gets to perform with two of his musical heroes and be cheered by the audiences and play a magical place like MSG ... it really is beautiful to witness. So glad I got to experience a small part of it in person at the LA Forum. (I didn't write up my concert experience. I didn't have time to do it that weekend, and then I thought it was too late to post anything. But I will quickly say that it was the first time I have ever seen Queen live -- a real bucket list moment for me. I've been a fan since I was about 12 (but I don't have knowledge of Queen like Talon and Q3!). So, sitting about 20 feet away from Brian when he sang "Love of my Life" was very moving. My boyfriend and I both had tears in our eyes. Going into the concert, BF was more of an Adam fan than a Queen fan, but now he loves Brian. The whole concert was amazing -- the music, the performances, the visuals. But the love and admiration extended to Brian, Adam and Roger was beautiful to see and hear.)

Great point iridium! How silly of me for even one minute to believe someone else's ears and eyes. I saw what i saw, and heard what I heard. That's what matters to me.

This series of pictures is review enough for me. Job well done and well received.

Is Adam wearing a Greek cross in his ear? Does anyone know? It's an Egyptian ankh. I wore one on a chain around my neck during my hippie, flowerchild days. (used Patchouli too!)
