Adam is NOT a frontman. Adam is a singular entity, not meant to blend in with others but rather meant to stand out front and center and take in all the attention and glory for himself. I completely agree, and I even wrote something similar a few days ago, though some people here might have misunderstood me. Adam isn't and shouldn't be a part of a band. He's a solo act and that's what works for him, and therefore also for his fans, because we wouldn't have the Adam of today if he hadn't decided to put himself out there - front and center, alone, just he and his voice and his style and his sexiness and his dance moves and his sparkly things and everything else that makes him who he is. I am so looking forward to his 3rd album and the continuation of his solo career. Yes, I am enjoying these Queen + Adam Lambert concerts, like everybody else, but I can't wait to see what happens next in Adam Lambert world.

I have to agree with glitter. As much as I'm loving the Adam and Queen collaboration, I'm also missing Adam solo. Damn, get that album 3 out!

Dear Atoppers, it’s time again for my weekly request re. our German N-Joy top 30 charts voting! It’s “half-time” now and … of course … “Lay me down” is still number one! To keep it up there we need your help, so please continue to vote for Avicii and Adam and give them your three stars (... and, as always, two and one star(s) to two other songs, then fill in the code and click on “Abstimmen” and you’re ready to vote again – quick and easy!)! Thanks to everyone, who invests a few minutes to help with the voting every week! www.n-joy.de/radio/sendungen/top_30/charts177.html

I, too, appreciate GLITTER'S insightful post. I think Adam is a frontman, though, simply because he wants to be! He loves being included in something bigger. (I do agree, though, that Adam on the stage by himself is enough for me.) I remember him saying that he still feels like an outsider among his musical peers. I would not be at all surprised if his talent intimidates other performers. I see him as gracious at all times to the people with whom he shares the stage, but only a few up-and-comers (Idols) or the best (Queen, Nile) dare to do so.
I see you down there, newlizzie! WELCOME!

Hi everyone, not a new member just a newish name,
Loved everything about the MSG concert - it was amazing in every way! I'm not a good " recapper" but wanted to share a few quick thoughts.
When he first looked over his shades at the crowd I glanced at the big "Q" and was almost shocked by how good looking he is ....and it's not as if I don't know that already! It was as if no picture to date had been able to capture him properly. Later on in the show, I had a strange feeling - I almost forgot that this was our Adam....the one so excited with his golden ticket, the one who wanted dimmer switches, who needed defending on silly Idol blogs and plugged away through a multitude of "gates", radio nonsense and ignorance.....and I was momentarily, inexplicably sad. Of course he has been replaced by this extraordinary man who sings for legends and brings arenas full of people to their feet so it's a very high class problem, but I still had that moment....
Also want to apologize to the folks behind my youngest boy - at 6'6 he's a problem sitting or standing but the alternative is for him to never see a movie, play or concert which seems a bit harsh - and also to Rhiannasu whom I saw on the way out and greeted as if a long lost friend when of course we have never met....she was very gracious!

Loved reading your thoughts, nikki. And thanks for posting this. In spite of jablea and wal's best efforts, I find myself sometimes forgetting things because there is such an embarrassment of riches, or remembering something but not at which concert. You posted my very favorite call and response so far (looking forward to those enthusiastic Aussies!): and in watching this again, had some thoughts myself: I have said before, ignorant of singing, technically, historically and technique wise. But my guess is that there is a lot of technical stuff he is showing in the call and response. Spontaneity for one. I wouldn't think you could rehearse that stuff. Charisma, to so fully engage the crowd. Nostalgia, for Freddie's call and responses. Knowledge of singing styles. And of course, because it is Adam, and he is living his art and his dream, joy. Oh, can't forget the way his body moves so organically to the beat. Which he creates. So I love the call and response because it allows me, again, to be reminded that Adam is a consummate vocalist. That he has command of so many styles and techniques. That there is more to come. That we have not seen his entire bag of tricks. In the call and response I get to see his virtuosity, and his skill, and his hard work, and his love of the art from another perspective. Still would love someday for him to do a song book album, like Rod Stewart did. I get it, I'm a heretic. Might not be a popular opinion. I love those songs, and would love to hear Adam perform them. Someone to Watch Over Me, The Very Thought of You, Making Whoopee, showing my age, probably a sentimentalist. I know this is not what he wants to do, I know he wants to establish himself as a solo, song writing artist. And I know he can. But that voice, and those songs, would make me very happy. A girl can dream, right? Would also love someday to hear him sing opera. One of the things that makes me a fan is his respect for his craft. I love to see him do something I haven't seen before, and show me in yet another way how very very brilliant he is. To me, his potential is limitless. IMO we are just seeing the tip ( ) of the iceberg. Yeh, I went there. And thanks to all for all those lovely Brian may pictures. Nice eye candy for my tea time.
