It seems that everyone but me knows what this is all about! -Jimmy Crack Corn and I dont't care.- ??? Check out page 9 of this thread or look at the video below your post at the 7:57 mark. Okay, I give up. I've watched the video 10 times, and I still don't understand. (What / who is Jimmy Crack?)

Hahahaha. You are looking too deep, I think. It is an old (at least 150 years) black folk song that in this century became a children's song. Many Americans heard it/learned it as kids but no one really knows the meaning of "Jimmy crack corn." Adam probably heard it as a child and for some strange reason it popped into his head while improving. He is probably as puzzled as to why as anyone else.

Here you go Butterfly Yup, what they said. There was another version of the song on page 9. I think it just popped into his head and he thought it was funny.

Happened to tune in to Trunk Nation on SiriusXM radio today whilst driving. It's hosted by Eddie Trunk, a hard rock/metal enthusiast who is also host of tv show That Metal Show on VH1. Happy to hear guest Chris Jericho speak extremely enthusiastically about Adam when discussing the Queen concert he attended. Eddie said he might go to the show on Wednesday and when Chris told him the show opens with Now I'm Here Eddie sounded really excited. Nice to see hard rock/metal fans responding to Adam's talent. I know in the past Eddie has made disparaging remarks about American Idol and there was none of that in their conversation today. Progress! This is so nice to hear. Thank you for sharing this prism.

It's actually a pretty popular genre. That monster video has over 71 million views. It allows fans of rock music to enjoy that genre without all the misogynistic and negative undertones of more "traditional" rock music. YOu know, because traditional Christianity isn't misogynistic much ; ) Lol true skylark but not every Christian adheres to that way of thinking

Jimmy Crack Corn is just one of those silly songs you hear then learn as a kid. He could just as well started singing Row, Row, Row Your Boat, You Are My Sunshine, Alouette, etc. It sort of surprised me that he knew JCC - it's really old -- but then he used "tonsil hockey" earlier on the tour and that's seems like an older generational term too. I'm waiting for H-E-Double Toothpicks next.

I probably sang it in elementary school too. No idea why everyone in the United States seems to learn it. Always seemed like a nonsense song, although there was probably a story behind it at some point.

O-KAY den. Just looked up the song on Wikipedia.
Apparently, the original song is about a black slave's lament over his white master's death in a riding accident...or the celebration of that fact thereof. (!!!)
...annnnnnd now you know why everyone only knows the chorus and no one actually knows or sings the lyrics in this century. <boggles>
