Well since it's a sloooowww day here at Atop, I'll post my OT laugh. I got home from the Vegas concerts late on Monday night & sometime late Tuesday morning I went outside & found a tiny black KITTEN hiding under my deck. I already have a cat & certainly don't want or need another one, so I waited a whole day to see if it would find its way back to its mother & siblings. I resisted for a WHOLE DAY people!! The next morning it was still hanging out so being the SUCKER that I am, I couldn't let it starve. Do I need to go on? I fed it & within 24 hours it figured out the cat door & was sitting in the kitchen looking very hungry & very adorable. It has now moved in & my other cat seems to LIKE it. They actually PLAY together. I took the kitten to the Vet to get it checked out & it's a boy & is completely healthy, so I guess I'm stuck with it. The Vet asked if it had a name. There was only one name I could think of that was appropriate, so I said "Freddie Mercury." I got a really blank stare. I just spelled it for them & when I paid the bill, the receptionist (an older lady) said "the cat's name is Freddie Mercury??? That sounds familiar for some reason...." I said "google it" & left. That should give them something to talk about.

Rock Square @rocksquare 14m #Movie about @davidbowiereal exhibition to play in U.S. theaters for one night only: www.rocksquare.com/community/musicnews/4412 …
The touring exhibition “David Bowie is,” which first took over London’s Victoria and Albert Museum last year, will be touching down in Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art on September 23rd and remaining on display in the Windy City through the rest of 2014. But that’s the only place in the U.S. the massive Bowie retrospective will visit – American Bowie diehards need not despair in too tragic a fashion, though, because a documentary about the popular exhibition will screen in U.S. theaters on the same day Chicago takes official temporary ownership of the career-spanning show. “This documentary brings to life how David Bowie embraced creativity from a variety of fields including performance art, music, dance, theater, and the visual arts, and fostered collaborations with artists of all kinds throughout his life," said Michael Darling, Museum of Contemporary Art's chief curator. “We are fortunate to have this film's debut coinciding with the MCA’s opening of this extraordinary exhibition.” The exhibition, which broke attendance records at the Victoria and Albert Museum, brings together over 300 objects from Bowie’s life and career, including such artifacts as: Ziggy Stardust bodysuits, album sleeve artwork, excerpts from films and live performances, set designs, storyboards, sketches, musical scores, and diary entries. Chicago will have the exhibit until January 4th, but the film will be screening on the night of September 23rd only. Check out the embedded player below for info about screening locations.
