Oh, dancygeorgia, I was referring to his Rolling Stone cover interview where he was asked about that performance and Adam responded that America was no longer voting so he went for it! (I'm paraphrasing and too lazy to look up the exact quote but that was how I understood it.) The "he went there" is really just my opinion, but I meant that he wore the platform boots, the wings, the glitter and rhinestones on national TV and sang "me and the boys will be playin' (eyebrow raise) all night." I just thought he was so brave.

After all this tiite and playing Mad World a kazillion times, I have never heard a missed note at the end. I have always thought, and still do, that the last note is perfect for that performance. It is so breathtakingly deep and wells up from his very soul. My impression anyway. Seems it touched critical Simon too. Still my favorite Adam performance of all time. You are me.. exactly. I always anticipate and want that ending, Its not complete without it.
