I love that gif of Adam before his ice bucket challenge but all the gifs are creating a problem for me. Now that so many people are using them as an avi it's actually stopping me from reading the news thread. The last few days the only way I could read the news thread was to boot up my old Windows 7 laptop which can't cope with lots of videos on the same page but doesn't seem to have any problem with gifs. I don't dare open one of talons Queen thread pages with that laptop as it will take about 5 minutes to load and then probably crash. My chromebook has no problem with 30 videos on one page but creates blank squares randomly throughout the news posts making them impossible to read if there are multiple gifs.
I asked a few days ago and it appeared that only 1 other person was having the same problem.

Just have to put in my 2 cents worth regarding the impact of Adam singing Mad World on American Idol in season 8.......I was sitting in my living room, folding some clothes, when it was Adam's turn to sing. Since he had mesmerized me from his first note in his audition, I eagerly awaited his performance that evening-and, of course, he was the last one singing that night. I had never heard the song before- but those lyrics pierced my heart as I thought of all of my students throughout my years of teaching who felt isolated, different, faceless and forlorn. And I looked into the beautiful eyes of the singer on that stage, sitting on a stool, and I knew he wasn't just singing a song-he was pouring out his soul. Such a simple delivery in a haze of blue; he made me hope, deep down in my heart, that I hadn't "looked through" any of my precious students who had sat before me in my classroom.I had tears in my eyes before Simon ever uttered a word...
And,to my surprise, even before the song was over, I noticed my husband-never an American Idol watcher, had stopped his reading and stood by me, speechless, during this magical performance. Because, that's exactly what it was-a song with a profound message that so many can relate to, performed by a young man who innately knows the power of his gift.
And that is why Mad World is simply unforgettable.

I'll go back to my regular old up-side-down and stationary self tonight!

OT Interesting but not too surprising -- Lady Gaga did not sell out her Perth concert -- not close.
I am not sure if that is a sign about ArtPOP not being popular or about Lady Gaga needing to evolve.

Hmmmmm "Aftermath" acoustic on Idol -- 3/10/11 -- no impact. Adam promoted his Trevor Foundation IGB Remix on that show. Had anyone ever promoted an LGBT charity on Idol before that? I know that that appearance did results in several major contributions to Trevor Foundation. For me, that performance was life changing -- that performance really had an impact on me -- and oddly, on everyone on this forum indirectly. In January 2011, I started a very demanding new job. By March, I was exhausted, living in snowy Ohio with my family down in Mississippi, I was "afraid" that someone in my real life would connect me to this forum and it would be a professional issue, and I really started to question why I was taking the time to do ATop (often 11PM to 2AM was the only time I was awake and not working.) I was in the midst of huge issues in my job -- very difficult. It would have been easy most days to just quit. The same week I was think about focusing on my life and considering stopping this forum and a lot of the political work I was doing on equality, or just throwing in the towel on my "dream" job because it was too hard and I did not even know how to define success let alone know how to get there, Adam then did that performance on Idol. He sang those words, "Have you lost your way...." and for the first time I listen to a song from FYE that I usually skipped. (The Howard Benson production on the album sucks IMO.) Have you lost your way? Livin' in the shadow of the messes that you made, And so it goes, Everything inside your circle starts to overflow.
Take a step before you leap, Into the colors that you seek, You'll get back what you give away, So don't look back on yesterday!
Wanna scream out, No more hiding, Don't be afraid of what's inside! Gonna tell ya, you'll be alright, In the Aftermath!
Anytime anybody pulls you down, Anytime anybody says you're not allowed, Just remember you are not alone, In the Aftermath!
You feel the weight, Of lies and contradictions that you live with every day, It's not too late, Think of what could be if you rewrite the role you play.
So yes, this song was written about "coming out" but for me it had a different meaning. It became a song if believing in yourself and of having the strength to go on in the face of opposition. I determined not to give up anything. I was determined not to let anyone pull me down. I still have not quit my job, I still have not stopping doing ATop, and I am still working for equality (now in two states!). And whenever I get tired, I play Aftermath in my head, in my car, wherever, but always the acoustic version. The one that I can really hear the words in. Anytime anybody pulls you down,
Anytime anybody says you're not allowed,
Just remember you are not alone,
In the Aftermath!
I know I am not alone. I know that song is important to Adam. So that is 2. I know that song is important to at least one other person somewhere else. And that is why I put it on that list. So perhaps it will need to be #11 but I think it is more important that an Adam Lambert WTHWT moment. Q3 your words touched my heart. You are very strong and brave woman. I, too, love the acoustic Aftermath and I believe it has helped many people gay or straight people work through some difficult and challenging times in their lives. I have seen different testimonials by people saying how that song helped them be strong and move forward in their lives. I wish I had saved some so I could post them here. Me too, Q3, I am so touched. And I cannot thank you enough for providing this forum, I'd be lost without it. Twitter is not the same, for various reasons, I don't follow many people to be able to follow conversation threads and most times don't see the attachments mentioned, UNTIL i come here, then I go "ah". Or sometimes when attachments are there, after spending time opening them, they're all repeats! Can I suggest when it gets too much and you don't have the time or energy, just create the daily thread and we can take it from there. You did mention we chat a lot

Its not 2009, she was arrogant thinking she cld take a break and tour and come back. Marry the night was the begginning of it. Thing with Adam he may not be at their lvl, but hes very good at reinventing himself.
