I tell myself often, Linda I say, now don't be mean but that devil on my shoulder sometimes just gets the better of me. I want to preface this by saying I think Taylor Swift is a gorgeous girl and her song-writing obviously tapped into a deep need of teenage girls but really, I mean really ... tinyurl.com/mtm32vtI was going to post the sound check of Adam singing Chokehold but it is just not fair. Oh, go ahead. Post it. I need something to clean out my ears and brain after listening to that. I don't know why it bugs me so much when very successful, rich pop singers prove to be unable to sing a simple tune on pitch. I learned long ago life is not fair, and folks are not honest. And people like form more that substance. I shouldn't let it get to me. But, hey, POST ADAM'S SOUND CHECK!

"Combined with Now I'm Here being an underwhelming opener, the starting sequence left the capacity audience a little cold." Is he fucking kidding? NIH is great song and opener Perhaps he's both deaf and blind as well as being an idiot. Poor thing.

That is painful. I think that Swift is actually a pretty good songwriter, but somehow it seems wrong that someone who sings no better than I do (and I CANNOT sing) should be so wildly successful as a singer while someone as amazingly talented as Adam still hasn't caught on with the general public to that degree. Yeah, I know, life isn't fair.

Taylor Swift can write her own songs (or at least it appears so). And Max Martin had a big hand in her pop crossover. Hopefully Martin can help Adam make it to radio.

I probably should have said that you only need to listen to a few seconds of that video. LOL. I also think Taylor Swift is a good songwriter and I really don't have a big objection to her success. There is a need for all kinds of music in this world but I just needed to share my head-shaking eye-roll moment. Here cassie, for you. soundcloud.com/gala-teya/partial-soundcheck-before

Morning musings: I watched this video of Nicki Minaj's performance at the VMA's: link
and of course, in my Adam centric view of the world, thought of Adam. I don't know anything about performing, but damn, really? Such a major wardrobe disfunction for poor Nicki, and not one of the other two girls tries to help her. I was itching to grab that zipper myself. Maybe it was broken, maybe stage decorum dictates that the show must go on, maybe they think if they don't acknowledge it we the audience won't see it. But it made me so uncomfortable for Nicki. Even though she doesn't wear a lot of clothes on stage, it was so obviously not the way that costume was supposed to work.
Adam content? Easy peasy. If Adam was on that stage with those ladies, and had a coat on, I could see him giving her his coat, maybe with a flourish, maybe playfully. Or even just making a face, grabbing that zipper tab and pulling it up. Involving us, recognizing that life is not perfect, and let's make it fun, or funny. He has the gift, the confidence, to be real on stage. Remember his torn pants? He made sure we were in on it, he made us laugh and be comfortable with it, he ACKNOWLEDGED it. Those ladies took me out of their performance with their (non) reaction to an obvious gaffe. Adam is the real deal. He has fun. He doesn't pretend to be perfect. I guess there is no fourth wall in performing, but if there was, he would ignore it, IMO. He isn't singing at us, he is singing with us. He wants us to go on this journey with him, orders us to be present. And the insane amount of talent that it takes to be so confident, so joyous, so open on stages is just part of his genius. He is just so real.
