REVIEW: A LITTLE BIT OF MAGIC by Judi Potts
(Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, Day 1)
29th August 2014 was a magical night with Queen & Adam Lambert. Brian May, Roger Taylor, Adam Lambert and the other band members brought everyone to their feet from the moment they exploded onto the stage.
Brian and Roger are playing better than they ever did. Brian went from brilliant hard rock guitar to lyrical beauty in Last Horizon, such contrast was the mark of a true legend. Roger and Rufus Taylor astounded us all with their drum battle, fantastic work Father and Son. Roger is also playing with even more energy and enthusiasm than ever.
Now we come to Adam Lambert. That guy is an absolute STAR. His interpretation of the Queen classics was just amazing. He looked and sounded like he was made to perform with the band. He was note perfect on all of the songs and his energy and theatrical presentation just brought the whole show up to another level. I enjoyed Adam for being Adam, he wasn’t taking off or pretending to be Freddie, that endeared him to me and the audience in general.
The big screen, lighting and staging were the icing on the cake. Wow, do those fellas know how to put on a show!! Well done Queen & Adam Lambert, this is one very happy fan, thank you for coming to Australia.
