We all make choices everyday. Sometimes our choices are influenced by how we are raised, how we are treated, by what we see, hear , or feel, etc. We become desensitized many times when we are bombarded with offensive material. Beheading, war, offensive words, whatever - we are being desensitized on a daily basis. In some ways, we are being bullied to accept things that are not really right or the best for us. Smack downs on ATOP occur on a daily basis and tend to discourage intelligent discourse. What does that mean????

The word "fuck" in and of itself is not offensive. If it is used to hurt someone as in screaming "you stupid fuck, get out of my life!", well then it is offensive but I would argue that "stupid" is offensive in this context. In the case of a simple "what the fuck was that!", fuck is used for emphasis and is not offensive unless the word alone in any context is offensive. And none of these come anywhere close to beheading, which I will take as massive hyperbole in order to make a point about de-sensitization.
Discussion is entered into so that one may learn other sides of an argument. So I am going to go back to the original point which was Adam cannot have enduring songs if the songs he makes include what might be considered profanity. I do not agree. Neither BTIKM or NCOE had any profanity and yet radio did not play them and the songs will not endure. Blurred Lines was overrun by not only profanity, but truly offensive insinuations and yet it was played ad nausem and unedited. And it is not the only song I could name that will endure with 'four-letter' words, so I do not think that is the problem.

I do not see that there has been any "smackdowns" but rather disagreement with your opinion. Isn't that the basis for discussion?
