There is a bit of background about the song Killer Queen on this video from about minute 5:00 to 7:00. That's a horrid "documentary" and IMO Eric Hall is claiming something no one can substantiate. He says one thing, Freddie said other things. Sometimes songs mean something, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they are part truth, sometimes based on truth, sometimes pure fabrication, and other times start off one way then go off the rails as they are developed. No one knows. There have been lengthy discussion about this on Queen boards for decades and they haven't come to any sort of consensus, so I doubt we will do it here either

You know happy for Katy to call her perfume whatever she likes. No chance in hell I'll be buying it no matter what. The whole celebrity perfume thing is just beyond done and sincerely hope Adam never goes that route.

Q3 asked, "What did I miss?" Nile Rodgers sent Adam a greeting tweet shortly after this: ADAM LAMBERT @adamlambert
Feels so fulfilling to have different projects all in motion at once. Multitasking is so chic! Lol
Coincidence?

Coincidence? I am sure, 100% sure that Nile is somehow involved with A3. But all the info we actually have is vague. > I did ask Nile if he was working with Adam on his new album -- but his response was essentially "no comment" -- but he did not say "no". So I assume he "could not say" otherwise he just would have said no, or nto this time. *** On the meaning of "Killer Queen" -- that is indeed a debate for the ages -- and it certainly has been debated for decades. No one will ever figure it out unless there are some secret papers explaining it that Freddie left hiding in his piano bench with all those mythical unpublished songs. There will be no note. And we will never know. All I know is.... 1. It is not about a strong, powerful, admirable woman. Female or Male can be debated -- and Freddie said it was about a "high class" prostitute. And the lyrics clearly link sex to money. Freddie said it was about a "call girl" which would have been the only thing he could say in the 1970's about a mainstream pop hit or they would have pulled it off the radio. He also clearly believe the song was about being prostitutes in a less literally sense and said so. 2. Many have taken "If you're that way inclined" to be confirmation that KQ is about a queen/male since that was a very common phrase used in polite conversation to describe gay men. 3. The KQ in the song would not wear Katy Perry's KQ -- since she wears perfume from Paris.4. There is a reference to "pussy cat" in the song -- so that ties to Katy Perry. 5. In live performances Freddie was as campy as Adam -- although standing up and with a totally different style. He particularly seemed to emphasize the "wanna try?" line. It was less sexy when he did it vs. Adam -- well at least to me. Part of the lyrics to illustrate: To avoid complications She never kept the same address In conversation She spoke just like a baroness Met a man from China Went down to Geisha Minah Then again incidentally If you're that way inclinedPerfume came naturally from Paris For cars she couldn't care less Fastidious and precise
She's a Killer Queen Gunpowder, gelatine Dynamite with a laser beam Guaranteed to blow your mind Anytime
Drop of a hat she's as willing as Playful as a pussy cat Then momentarily out of action Temporarily out of gas To absolutely drive you wild, wild.. She's all out to get you

This is from the end of the Saturday (2014-09-06) news thread: You know how there are certain things you are curious about? Adam (and Leila too, I think) mentioned that there was one note in a musical that Adam sang when he was young, can't remember the musical, maybe Joseph and The Technicolor Dreamcoat? Or Fiddler on the Roof? Anyway, IIRC, he hit this note and the audience was amazed and Leila realized he really had something special. I would love for an interviewer to ask him to repeat that note. Heh heh. Fairly certain it was Fiddler on the Roof, and the song was "To Life! To Life! L'Chaim!" Stuck in my head because, as I recall, he was playing the Russian in the bar and I thought it was funny that the Jewish kid was given almost the only non-Jewish role. What was your reaction the first time you realized Adam had such an incredible voice?
I remember he was in a children’s production of Fiddler on the Roof when he was about 10 years old. I’d never watched the rehearsals. So during the show when he got on top of a table and let out this note, I just looked at his dad and said, “Where’d that come from?” Leila Lambert (Woman's Day) An American Idol Mom WD talks to Adam Lambert’s #1 fan—his mom, Leila By Angela Ebron Posted December 29, 2009 from WomansDay.com www.womansday.com/Articles/Lifestyle/Family-Fun/An-American-Idol-Mom.html

When did you realize you had musical talent?
At 10 years old, I was put into a musical theater company, a children’s theater company. I was really creative early on and I think my parents were trying to figure out what I wanted to do. I had a lot of energy. I was hyper and they put me in indoor soccer and T-Ball and I didn’t really love it. I was in the Cub Scouts at one point. They tried everything -- swimming lessons and other activities -- but I was very creative at home and wanted to play dress-up and make believe and recite things, so they figured that theater was a natural fit.
I got into all the musicals and the first time I realized I was doing a production of “Fiddler On the Roof” and there’s this scene where this Russian guy has a featured solo in the “L’Chaim” number. It’s like a bar scene. He’s the big guy that holds the note forever. It’s that big showoff moment, and I was playing that part. Adam Lambert (The Ultimate Interview Part 1) Bronson, Fred.
