4Msrmyn, thanks for posting that E! True Hollywood story, went really well with my tea.I would LOVE to see a full hour interview with Lynn Boyles, Adam's first music teacher. She's like you, cassie, she gives me background that fascinates me, and supports my feeling that he is a once in a lifetime talent. I have always thought that one of the reasons Adam touches me so lies in the work that he has put into this. Lynn's comments that at ten he wanted to know how his voice works, and especially my favorite comment, that he wanted to sing his emotions to her? It indicates to me that singing is in his soul, hardwired into him, and that all the rest , the joy, the rawness, the skill, the notes, all spring from that place, and we feel it. That he is one of those people born to do this one precious thing, and had the opportunity and the drive and the need to actualize it.
To me it goes beyond the technical, I know we joke about the Alien From Planet Fierce, but it sure is easy to live in that fantasy. There is just something about that boy, the totality of him, that seems unearthly. So, I would love to hear Lynn discuss all that, at length. It's the part of Adam that most compels me, actually, if I think about it. It translates into feels when I listen to him, but that core place, that primal thing, is so captivating to me. Absolutely agree with you about Adam's passion and drive to sing. Angelina Kalahari wrote several years ago about the absolute NEED to sing. "As a singer myself, I absolutely believe that singers are born that way. Our connection to our voice generally manifests itself in an overpowering urge to sing, usually from a very young age, and it drives us relentlessly on to develop our skills and to find the repertoire best suited to our instrument. Adam Lambert is a perfect example of a born singer. Not only was he born with an exceptional instrument, he started working on it from a very young age. On his site, NegativeNeil.com, his brother, Neil, talks hilariously about siblings, and how annoying it was for him as a youngster having to listen to Adam wildly improvising over songs on the radio all day long. Neil thought Adam was just showing off. As a non-singer he would not have understood Adam’s need to do that. Neil goes on to say that he understands it now, though. But for singers, this yearning to sing is typically so intense, that we feel as though we have almost no choice in the matter; that singing has in fact chosen us, not the other way around, and we must heed its call, or suffer excruciatingly. The necessity to sing is more than a passion: it is a need so strong, that if ignored, causes actual physical pain, but one for which there is no painkillers, because the pain is emotional and spiritual, but sits, nevertheless, in our physical body, alongside our voice." soundbath.wordpress.com/2011/05/30/broken-open-adam-lambert-the-agony-and-ecstasy-of-singing/

OT but I thought this was so sweet and just so special. These two lovely ladies have traveled through life together for 72 years and are finally marrying. I hope it's ok I posted this. Bringing it back to Adam...I think he would be very happy for them. Newlyweds at 90: Two Iowa Women Finally Marry After 72 Years Together BY ASSOCIATED PRESS 09/08/2014 AT 03:30 PM EDT

More than seven decades after beginning their relationship, Vivian Boyack and Alice "Nonie" Dubes have gotten married. Boyack, 91, and Dubes, 90, sat next to each other during Saturday's ceremony, the Quad-City Times reports. "This is a celebration of something that should have happened a very long time ago," the Rev. Linda Hunsaker told the small group of close friends and family who attended. The women met in their hometown of Yale, Iowa, while growing up. Then they moved to Davenport in 1947 where Boyack taught school and Dubes did payroll work. Dubes said the two have enjoyed their life together and over the years they have traveled to all 50 states, all the provinces of Canada, and to England twice.
"We've had a good time," Dubes said.

Longtime friend Jerry Yeast, 73, said he got to know the couple when he worked in their yard as a teenager. "I've known these two women all my life, and I can tell you, they are special," Yeast said. Iowa began allowing gay marriage in 2009. The two women say it is never too late for a new chapter in life.

theosgma - is "the potato on the table" the same as: the "bird in the hand" the "devil you know" the "elephant in the room" Never heard the term. I agree they will write together, maybe already have, but I don't think there will be anything official for a few years. I do think they could write and perform some amazing stuff together but I kind of feel some distance may actually be called for. This summer they were Queen with Adam performing their songs, to be another entity they would need to determine how that would be configured. Not a straightforward task, lots of variables. Besides, like lelemaple said, they are busy people with lots of interests. A3 A3 A3 !!! The potato on the table is an expression from my teacher who admonished us when we did not pay attention to what was obvious and right in front of us in the context of doing a chart interpretation. He would say that he was born of Lithuanian peasant stock. When the potato was on the table, that was dinner. You didn't go looking for the macaroni au gratin. A3 is the potato on the table. It is undeniably there and it is the main meal. Everything else now constitutes trimmings or maybe the promise of a great dinner in the future.

theosgma - I LOVE both your posts today!
"Maybe I am just Pollyanna but I can't imagine Brian especially not salivating about a chance to write for a voice he loves and knows so well now. For me, this tour reopened the possibility to create and Queen has such creative spirit. A3 is the potato on the table but I think we might see Dr Bri/Adam new music down the road. Brian has that voice in his head. It is a magical and addictive voice. I don't think he can let it just go off into the sunset when he has a chance to help immortalize it."

I'm trying to post under the E Hollywood tapes, but messing up terribly-so sorry. Just got so excited to see this again because in segment 5 ---there I am in my burgandy- coloured blouse, standing at the barricade looking up as Adam walked by to greet fans and sign autographs after his show in San Diego. When this was first televised, I didn't even know that I was in this footage until I kept getting calls from family and friends,{who were slowly starting to recognize my Adam Love} "I think I saw you on television last night-were you at Adam Lambert's concert?!!!" Of course I had seen the episode of E Hollywood Story and had taped it but never noticed me---too busy looking at Beautiful Adam---and yes, I still have the VCR tape. Adam and I ----connected forever!

Avicii news: Avicii Cancels All Future Performances Due to Health Problems by Elliot Sachs on September 8, 2014 We’ve got sad news to report to Avicii fans. It appears that the Swedish superstar producer and DJ will be cancelling all future shows, including his headlining performance at this year’s TomorrowWorld, due to health reasons. While the extent to which Avicii’s health is affected remains unclear, it appears that even his recent surgery during this year’s WMC and the resting time that followed was not sufficient for recovery from his ongoing health problems.
