I am definitely not a regular Idol watcher, nor an Idol know-it-all, but I'm pretty sure there have been a number of past Idols that were released from deals and signed by new labels. I can think of two off hand...... Clay Aiken and Kellie Pickler (and I think they were major label deals), but I know there are others. Don't really care enough or have the time to confirm who the others are though....... So no, Adam is not the first this time. But he sure as hell is the first to be a judge Looks like Clay was only with Decca for two albums, which didn't sell much at all (both totaling 70K). Reading Kellie's wiki, it looks like she was dropped by RCA, then signed on to Black River Entertainment, which is independent. On that label she only sold 47K. So if Adam stays with his second label for a while and does well, he will be the first to "part" with a major record label and gain success at a second major label.

Just me, I know, but I really do not like most snark and 'sarcasm'...it is often rather passive aggressive in nature...and is indicative of someone who is afraid to be honest with how they feel. Several here have suggested Adam was being sarcastic in his comments, about fan tweets. I sincerely hope he was not because he has made such an issue about being open and honest...and if that was sarcastic, then by definition, it was not open or honest. That would make me really sad. Ridiculing your fans...or others [if the others are sincere, not mean] is neither funny nor smart IMHO. I am not thinking of anyone particular here but in general. I just like to think that people generally say what they mean and mean what they say... Call it tongue in cheek than. After the brouhaha a week or so ago with Adam and S.Stone concerning the fans who continually comment on articles to correct every little detail or point out how ignorant the author is, and adding in some who tweet S.Stone to advise her on how to run a PR campaign, he response certainly struck me as pointed. That does not mean he does not appreciate and love his fans looking out for him. His remarks seem heartfelt and honest but with a little double meaning. My opinion - YMMV

I disagree with all the people saying it was sarcasm and he was telling people to stop. His last comment about "keep doing it" had a very nice tone to it. As did his facial expressions1 Remember his sarcasm about Gene Simmons? This was not the same. Not even close! So I am with you on this mszue!

Wonder if Adam is on his way home or hanging out in NYC for a few days?

"Playful" is a great word to describe it for me. I went back to listen just to be sure, and I don't read sarcasm either. He was responding to the interviewers request to say something to her friend Wendy, who tweets about him all the time. He said thank for the publicity and then basically says that he has a number of fans who think of themselves as publicists and then because of the to-do the past week, realizes that could be taken the wrong way and clarifies himself by telling them to keep up the good work [of tweeting about him all the time since that was what they were talking about.] instagram.com/p/tFVc2nqB_U/
