Could he be any more gorgeous in that behind the scenes Elvis shoor!!  Love that jacket and he's only worn it twice: Idol and Elvis shoot! I don't know mys*&@^#r, every time I think he has reached peak gorgeousness, he just gets better and I was so happy to see that jacket again and to know that it is still hanging in his closet. So, I just learned to do something new with YT videos. Slow them down! Just click on the cog in the lower right corner (the same one where you can change video quality and there is a speed option - slow it down or speed it up. I think we must remind ourselves of his pride in our level of support when we start doubting ourselves as a fandom and question whether his comments 'to us' [such as the recent 'keep it up'] are meant to be sarcastic!! "I was definitely taken aback," Ameruoso tells HNGN. "He said, 'My fans are the most loyal, you'll see,' and a lot of artists say that, but he was right. His fans are absolutely the most supportive and loyal." Adam has very loyal fans, and it's interesting that he ended up with Queen, because they have a similar thing, although not quite the same. I could be off here, because I wasn't around in Queen's early years and the media was different then, but I get the impression that Queen had quite a loyal following. The Rainbow gig was sold out and they were selling records despite the critics. I read some comment a while ago that Queen fans are very single minded and fanatic about their favourite band, and this seems true to me. It likely has to do with how unique they are as there really isn't another band that compares (bias alert). Speaking of unique, Adam has a lot of these qualities too. The music is very good and different while still accessible, and he puts on a great show. The fan relationship is different, but that has to do with the age we live in. He's a different package and the manner in which I'm his fan is different from the way I'm a Queen fan. I still see a lot of parallels and I think they have a lot in common. Maybe I'm digging too deep... I think this is partly me trying to come to terms with my Adam fanning, which kind of took me by surprise. Our resident Queen genius Talon could speak to this much more than me, but Queen has a HUGE and international following, many of whom have followed the band since their inception. They are less popular in the US than the UK and other countries, although they are well-respected here in many circles. Some fans are purists and want to preserve the band in its original form, while others are open to change. It's an interesting dynamic for sure. Personally, they have been my favorite band since I was 5 or 6 and will always be for the rest of my life. They are magnificent in their different forms, i.e. original lineup and with Adam at the helm. I have a serious soft spot for all of it. |

Resistance is futile and I don't care! I was away in the Rockies for a short trip last week with limited computer time -- partly because we were so busy and partly because my husband was around a lot more (LOL). Anyhow, I really missed the Adam news, but I also really, really missed hanging out here with all you wonderful, profound and/or funny people. I did enjoy my trip too!!!

Need the memory of Adam ninjas. At one of the venues, after Killer Queen Adam asked about people trying to escape something, and an audience member said "American Idol." He repeated the comment and laughed. Where was that? Anyone have a link to a video with that?
