Who hires a guitar player the day of an event for 500 people??? WTH? Did they need a sudden replacement for whoever was planned to play or something? Maybe this was part of the delayed start? Good on Adam for making it work, but seriously...pretty unprofessional. Listened to the stream again. The sublime and the excruciating. How do I block out the guitar playing from my mind and yet still hear that amazing live voice? The accompaniment was painful. The vocals were angelic. Whoever hired the guitarist must be tone deaf or the guitarist is the son of a mob boss to whom the booking person owed a lot of money. Or both. There have been a few instances where I was singing with an accompanist who sucked. Or whose sheet music fell off the piano in the middle of the song. Or who lost their place. As the lead singer, you don't stop the performance. You just keep going, hoping if you keep to the correct rhythm, key and melody, they will figure it out and join back up with you. You have to power thru, holding the song firmly in your mind while turning off the discordant backing. Very difficult and nerve-racking. Adam is such a pro. He sounded divine thru it all. I see on twitter that Nile Rodgers hooked the guy up with the gig. edit/..haha of course Adamrocks beat me to that. Methinks Niles is a good reference. |

One thing I'm really curious about...has AT&T ever showed any of the winning memes??? Wasn't what this whole promo was about??? Expressing how one lives proud? All I saw in the twitter list was food, candy, drinks and more drinks before Adam came on. I easily could have missed how AT&T plans to use them. Or if they were contest related only. Seems like a lost opportunity to me since people had hours to party. I would have liked to have seen these expressions. Anybody know anything about these lost little memes or am I the one lost???  Totally agree....lost opportunity..... I thought once the lady mentioned about the memes... We would get to see them. Then Adam says...are there any here who created the memes.... Like did he not just meet them??? Could have had them introduced ....up on stage for a quick round of applause. Maybe they had them playing in some corners of the room ....on screens??? Obviously Viv and I would have been planning this party a tad differently....like meaningfully!   Agree ....agree the fellow was probably the DJ?..his site and bio says nothing about playing guitar??? DJ duties ....does it for " big time celebs and events". |

So why wouldn't Adam just bring Tommy? #enquiringminds #strange With all the budget money spent on this campaign, one more ticket to NYC was too much $$? Very odd. The whole presentation felt like an afterthought. Strange campaign. Agreed that this whole campaign and event and Adam's involvement seemed odd. Adam was pleasant, and sang beautifully, but he seemed detached from the campaign, barely talked about it, and appeared to do the very barest minimum for a performance, as opposed to last year. I wonder what the story is behind the scenes. I never thought I would pine for Tommy back with Adam playing acoustic guitar, but I would take him over this guy a million times! |

I imagine Adam felt pretty lonely up there when he has become used to Queen's wall of sound and harmonies behind him.
For such a major company, it seemed poorly planned. Utilization of the memes would have been great, or even just introducing the winners by name. Maybe they had the memes running in the background? Just seems odd; especially for a national campaign.

Not singling you out, but the young man has been very gracious and complimentary; maybe we should try that as well. EDIT: after reading a Twitter response, Kansara was the DJ. I continue to think the guitarist was fine and am eternally grateful that I must be totally tone deaf. I cannot fathom listening to a nice performance and being as critical and disappointed as some hear appear to be. |

I'm wondering the same thing ....... For 4 songs? I thought the guitar guy was fine...... I thought he was fine too. And Adam was glorious - and gorgeous, as usual.  |
