Let's send her back to 1957 (and Colonel Tom) when she could read about her idol once a month in a fan magazine... or see him a couple times a year on the Ed Sullivan show....

cassie, I LOVE your analyses and information on the techniques of singing and the explanations the hows and whys. I have said before, will say again, that it enhances my already extreme enjoyment of Adam's prowess.
I really really enjoy gaining some understanding of how he does what he does, if I didn't have that I would probably just think he is one lucky son of a bitch to have been "born" with that talent. And of course there is a genetic component, but you have helped me understand that that is not all that is necessary, that to hone and preserve this gift he has worked and studied and practiced for a long, long time. And still does.
I really appreciate that perspective. Makes me respect him a whole lot more, gifts should be honored. And I believe he honors his, and boy, do we benefit!
So, speaking only for red panda, you are much appreciated, and have helped me to more fully enjoy this damn hot singing boy. Didn't even know that was possible, so thanks!

Thankfully they did not insert a video clip into TSMGO. IMO there is enough [maybe too much] video in the show as it is. I am there for a live show, not to watch and listen to videos. There are more than enough Queen nostalgia shows out there. For me, the show would be better if the Freddie video was used once during LOML. That is an effective, moving moment. I saw the show quite a number of times in both the US and Canada, and the band video section during TWTDOOL always drains energy out of the building. It is the one song I would cut completely but if it makes Roger happy it is OK with me. Bores the audience, every time. Finally, BoRhap -- the duet is nice, IMO Queen + Adam just performing the song live would be better with just the head video. >> I expect to see both the LOML and the BoRhap Freddie videos. **** Since the UK + Europe shows have a GA floor, I am wondering if they will cut that long section in the middle (the no Adam part) and make it more lively. Perhaps cutting the bass solo? Oh interesting, because me and my friends react very differently. I went to QAL shows with 5 different friends (most of them casual fans) and we always chat afterwards. We enjoyed TWTDOOL very, very much. It brought all kinds of emotions to us. (maybe because we're not hard-core Queen fans like some of you guys are, who have seen those materials they used in the video too many times.) For me, the quietness during TWTDOOL only meant that people were drowning themselves completely in the moment... but maybe it was just us. LOML is a moving moment, true. Only moment that brought me and my friends to tears. So if they have to cut one I'd say TWTDOOL, but I'm really hoping they would keep both! I mean, I stand through all my shows and I don't expect them to be "lively" from the beginning to the end. Even on my feet I do enjoy quieter moments! Everyone has different preferences and I think that whatever else Brian, Roger, Adam and the Queen team did a great job of balancing out respect for the Queen legacy and music, honoring Freddie, mixing the big hits with a few interesting songs from the 70's for the "old" fans, and making it all a great show -- a very tough balancing act. So no major objections from me. And IMO LOML is perfect. For me, I am a Queen fan who loves the music and the memories, but I want the music to be alive. If I go to hear Mozart played, no one feels compelled to show a video replication of him preforming the music. I feel the same way about Freddie and his compositions, I want a full, live concert experience -- not videos. But I also saw Queen with Freddie live many, many times and for me the videos are just a pale imitation of him live. I honest might feel differently if my life experience was different -- but I cannot separate my experience from my perception. Setting that aside, I don't expect that Brian is over here, reading my preferences and redesigning the show for me! But, if he is, Mr. May, could I make a small request or two or three -- 1. Every Q+AL concert should have TSMGO sung by Adam. 2. Please, please, please think perform "White Queen" (sung by Brian) in just one concert that I am at. 3. Make Adam sing "You Take My Breathe Away". Just make him do it. There will be no Freddie fan riots. I am pretty sure Freddie would be OK with it. Finally, JMHO (no rocks please) the end of BoRhap was not composed to be a line-trading duet. The whole thing reminds me of a The Voice battle round. Just let Adam sing the last verse as it was composed and have Freddie on the big screen at the end for the last line. Why? I think Freddie was a stellar vocalist, frontman and above all the showman of his age. But his greatest gift to the world was his compositions and of all the compositions, BoRhap is the diamond. I am OK with Muppet versions, and bluegrass renditions. BUT Queen in whatever form they take should preform it as composed -- and the last verse was composed for one voice -- it parallels the part before it. So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye? So you think you can love me and leave me to die? Oh, baby, can't do this to me, baby, Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here.
(Oh, yeah, oh yeah)
Nothing really matters, Anyone can see, Nothing really matters, Nothing really matters to me.
They could have Freddie sing the last line for the big screen. Anyway the wind blows.
Whatever else, I bet that in 2314 on the Titan Colony, someone will be doing the Gzorrik version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" and on the Mars Colony at a football game the crowd will be stopping to WWRY. Because a few things from the 20th century are truly timeless and Queen music is part of that cultural time capsule that we outlast all of us.
