Since we're talking Mad World tonite and supposedly that writer is in LA working on a song with Adam and Cyndi this week....this is a gorgeous Mad World. I love the expression on her face when he sings "nervous". Interesting to see this again after all this time.... Just another example of a duet where Adam rarely takes his eyes off his partner, while she barely looks at him. He is, without any doubt, the best, most giving duet partner EVER.

While I was looking thru Youtubes for more Mad Worlds, I ran across this Underneath from CapeTown. Oh my, the close ups of his eyes and expressions...I can see water inside his nose like you get when your eyes overflow......The emotion of this song almost breaks my heart. And now we know looking back to Nov 2012 that his 2 yr love affair had "run it's course". I'm in tears

ashleyaucoin28 Haven't heard anyone sing Mad World like #AdamLambert Loved his version! #TheVoice spreckles Lol that 3 names guy did Heartless and Mad World? lyndseyparker Taylor John Williams on #TheVoice did "Heartless," now "Mad World." Can I request "Falling Slowly" & "Ring of Fire" next? La_Principessa Taylor won that round but I didn't care for his version of Mad World. He definitely isn't Adam Lambert! #TheVoice #KnockoutsContinue MetEvaine Taylor Three Names' Mad World was excellent, but nowhere NEAR the excellence of Adam Lambert when he sang it on American Idol. SteelPENGUIN71 Watching #TheVoiceKnockouts heard Mad World. Didn't even compare to @adamlambert 's version BOOKadooodles Every time I hear Mad World, I'm reminded of the brilliant performance @adamlambert gave on American Idol #NBCTheVoice just_marnie You want hypnotic - listen to the fabulous #adamlambert sing #madworld AdamsArmyGirl Taylor ... nice job on Mad World. Not Adam Lambert by any stretch, but who is? #KnockoutsContinue 246chick Dude, Taylor singing mad world on the Voice, Adam Lambert's version is the best I've heard. DanasChocandSun #theknockoutscontinue One of my all-time favorites when @adamlambert sang Mad World! Save them both, right, @gwenstefani? N0ItsBecky Also I still always think of Adam lambert when mad world is sang awkwardhobos Someone sung Mad Workd on The Voice and I had to go listen to @adamlambert version cause it is perfection _CaRRiEMaRiE I love @adamlambert 's version tho. AutumnNAlston never wanna hear anyone sing mad world after adam lambert did it on idol tbh #KnockoutsContinue . hes good tho wtfjag I effing love MAD WORLD & especially @adamlambert rendition on #idol when IDOL was still IDOL way back..Lawd - love this song #TheVoice mbfred sorry dude - you can't beat adam lambert's version of this song... like ever... HMMM remarks kind of like Adams no Freddie Mercury I knew it would happen..LOL Well, not really. Objectively speaking, Taylor John Williams does not posses the technique, control, phrasing, breath support or range to be compared favorably to Adam. Subjectively speaking, he does not seem to evoke the same feeling in the listener, either. Also, both covered a cover. Given Taylor's song choices, it might have been even a case of covering Adam's cover or Gary Jules cover of Tears For Fears' original, although to me it sounded like he was not trying to evoke Adam (or if he did, he failed as it sounded very Gary Jules to me). In the case of Freddie vs. Adam, some of us would argue that Adam has equal or better technique and a more flexible usable range (albeit about an octave higher). Both have the ability to provoke strong emotions in the listener. Subjectively speaking, many people might prefer Freddie's voice in Queen songs. After all, Feddie was singing his own songs, while Adam is singing Feddie's songs and that makes it an uphill battle already. Funnily enough, while I might prefer Freddie on most Queen songs (but not WWTLF or STL), I actually prefer Adam on Freddie's solo songs (I Was Born To Love You, Love Kills). But IMHO they are both beyond Good And Evil in their skills - in their own "Best Singer Of A Generation" realm. A lot of Queen fans even feel they have to bring up Freddie's song writing skills or the fact that he played the piano to "HeWhoCannot amed" Adam's abilities when discussing "who is betterer" When somebody would say about the QAL concert "I wish it were with Freddie", they are basically asking to listen to A) A dead guy or B) A 68 years old singer if he were still alive. I suspect that neither would sound as fresh as a 32 years old sexy, alive and kicking frontman with similar technical abilities and theatrical attitude... So I have the feeling the situation is slightly different...

I was kidding , It was my compliment to Adam.nowhere was I actually comparing..I was trying to say that people will be compared to Adam and many will be in his shadow. but I have always been of the opinion that the world can have lots of good singers and there is no need for comparisons or contests about who is the best. That doesn't mean that I don't totally love Adam and all his talent.

Of course you were. But when I saw those tweets, I had the same question - are people unfairly comparing a newcomer to an "icon"? So I went to actually listen to the performance on YouTube (since I am in Europe right now, so no live NA TV for me) to make a better judgement... That's where my comment came from - I was half answering my own question! Apropos Europe - as I mentioned a few days ago, I have been following the local X-Factor concerts and discovering how spoiled I have been by a certain artist we stan. Last night they had a Halloween-themed show (or as my former favorite metal group would call it, HELLoween). It contained a huge amount of theatrics, blood, horror, AC/DC and Marilyn Manson covers. In fact it was pretty awesome. But there was one girl (one of the front runners) who sang a difficult song and ended it on her back in that hard-to-reach yoga position we have seen a few times already. The jury commented how great her technique was since she "kept on singing while bending back". I shook my head because what I thought when she did that was "Oops, she lost a tiny bit of power the moment she touched the ground, AFL would never allow that to happen"!

I find it interesting that it is the older long established female singers, Cyndi Lauper & Melissa Etheridge, who or asking Adam to duet with them. Wish Barbara Streisand had asked him for her just released Partners (duets) album. I'm thinking that there might be something about just being older than encourages iconic names to appreciate/want to be involved with Adam. They've been around the block and probably don't feel threatened by his overwhelming talent.

I think it is a fair comparison of apples to apples. Most people are comparing Adam's AI performance--and he was a newcomer at the time.
