The Queen fans who are trashing Brian and Roger, and actually profess to be true Queen fans? They are not doing Freddie any favors. They need to realize you insult Adam you insult Freddie. Their reaction is like a spoilt little kid who has not got their way, and has gone to their room and thrown their toys around haha, it is exactly like that. It is petty and immature. Fortunately it does not reflect the majority of Queen purists, who think Adam is incredible, because he is vocally Freddie's equal, that is not conjecture that is FACT. Whether or not you prefer Adam not singing in a higher key most of the time. If he sang in a lower key most of the time, people well be saying oh he can't sing high like Freddie haha. Your damned if you do, your damned if you don't. Social Media is just full of so many cynical people, who love Adam as they are alive in their angst. I think it is time as fans, just take the good from the bad. It is just ignorance. Queen have had 11 lead singers since Freddie. Freddie was NOT Queen, he was simply a very important subset of Queen. But if you had a 5 billion dollard Ferrari just catching dust in the garage, and someone came along who equaled the horse power of its predecessor, would you not get a new driver? Or would you go buy a mini instead haha? Adams simply driving the ferrari, he doesen't own it.
I am respectful of people who prefer Freddie. I am respectful of people who prefer Adam. But just measured on vocal range (frequencies emitted by a singer) and power (dB), Axl Rose is the greatest vocalist to ever sing with Queen. Thankfully it is about more than frequencies because I am not a huge Axl fan.
I think Freddie and Adam are incomparable. And Adam with the current Queen line-up is great.
> But there would not be a Queen without Freddie and a large portion of the Queen catalog was written or co-written by Freddie and a large portion of what Queen is in concert was created by Freddie. So, while Adam remains my favorite vocalist, he did not create Queen and IMHO he has hit the perfect mix of respect, humility and pride in his work with Queen. I will Adam's lead on this one. I also try to be respectful, humble and proud.
> I do not want Adam as the lead vocalist of Queen, part of the band. I want Adam the solo artist who has a side-by-side project as a solo vocalist singing lead for Queen. I want Adam's name up there big and bold. Queen + Adam Lambert.

Regarding how many lead singers Queen has had, 11 is not the right number -- I would say 5, Queen purists would say 3, and Freddie fans might say 1. Freddie, Roger and Brian all sang lead vocals. There are also the two Queen + vocalists -- Paul Rodgers and Adam. That is my 5.
To get to 11 (and the count is too low) I guess you added in some of guest vocalists who sang one song at a charity event and some but not all of the Tribute singers concert or something like that.
Here are the ones I are notable (and they bring the total to Freddie (1), Brian and Roger (2) + touring vocalists (2) + Tribute concert lead vocalists (19) + Other recording artists (10 ++) = 34++ I left off the Canadian Idols, XFactor UK, and lots of other people but there are over 50.
Queen: Brian May & Roger Taylor + Pavarotti - Too Much Love Will Kill You (Modena 2003)
Michael Jackson (1981 written/recorded, 2014 released)
Tom Chaplin & Queen @ the Princes Trust Rock Gala (2010)
Bono
Dave Stewart
Pavarotti - "Too Much Love Will Kill You" (Modena 2003)
Note: Brian was not shabby on this one!

David Bowie (1981, 1992)
Annie Lennox (1992)
> Under Pressure duet at the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert.
Lisa Stansfield (1992–1993)
George Michael (1992–1993)
> Also from the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert. Released an EP in 1993)
Zucchero (1992)
> One of many from the Tribute concert.
> He is listed on the Queen (band) Wiki page as 1998 but I think that was when he worked with just Brian May.
There are a lot of other people who sang with Queen at the FM Tribute concert like Axl Rose and Liza and Seal etc. A total of 19 lead vocalists.
Elton John (1992, 1997)
> Paris benefit performance
> Tribute concert
Robbie Williams (2001)
> The IMO lame Queen (with Robbie Williams on lead vocals) performing "We Are The Champions." From the A Knight's Tale film.
For me, this Robbie William's WATC proves how good and incomparable Adam is....
