There can be no fact about comparing frontmen or vocalist in any meaningful way. You can measure the frequency of the notes and the volume of the notes -- beyond that it is a matter of taste and preference.

I am respectful of people who prefer Freddie. I am respectful of people who prefer Adam. But just measured on vocal range (frequencies emitted by a singer) and power (dB), Axl Rose is the greatest vocalist to ever sing with Queen. Thankfully it is about more than frequencies because I am not a huge Axl fan.

I think Freddie and Adam are incomparable. And Adam with the current Queen line-up is great.

Regarding how many lead singers Queen has had, 11 is not the right number -- I would say 5, Queen purists would say 3, and Freddie fans might say 1. Freddie, Roger and Brian all sang lead vocals. There are also the two Queen + vocalists -- Paul Rodgers and Adam. That is my 5.

To get to 11 (and the count is too low) I guess you added in some of guest vocalists who sang one song at a charity event and some but not all of the Tribute singers concert or something like that.

Here are the ones I are notable (and they bring the total to Freddie (1), Brian and Roger (2) + touring vocalists (2) + Tribute concert lead vocalists (19) + Other recording artists (10 ++) = 34++ I left off the Canadian Idols, XFactor UK, and lots of other people but there are over 50.

Cheers for the info I am not as knowledgeble haha. What I meant re Adams vocal range, Rob Cavallo said he can hit every note on the guitar. He has not got the highest voice in terms of vocal range. But IMO his low to high range, and his ability to go so low to so high in matter of seconds, is second to none. Freddie was more gritty in his tone. But it is more a preferance thing. Adam so suits Queen though, I guess I am just shocked at the response to this Collab, is it really that big of deal? Adams theatrical style is more current for this generation. I don't see Freddie performing that well currently. I mean could you imagine Brian playing on Freddie's piano lol? With Adam I feel it is much more looser and funner. With Freddie back in their hayday they were such a serious band.

Sorry, I have to butt in here for a second regarding your comment about Queen being much more serious back in their heyday.

Freddie was easily as campy and theatrical as Adam, just in a different way. Their performance styles are another thing that makes the two performers unique from each other, in addition to their voices. Again, regarding their on-stage humor, you can't really say "one of these things is objectively better than the other", but you can say "these two things are different, and I have a personal preference for one over the other."

I mean, nothing says "serious" like Freddie performing IWTBF live in the same drag that he wore in the music video.

Y'know...or riding on the shoulders of Darth Vader.

It's true that Queen were more heavy and serious in the early 70's, but they have evolved from that since then. If they were serious throughout the entirely of their career, I would completely understand Queen fans complaining about Adam's particular brand of camp.

Well to be fair I never implied they were serious their entire career. Just said they hayday in the 70's. Was just trying to point out tines have changed.
