12.26.14 Adam Returns From Vacation

The thing is Adam has at this point practically established a game with the fanbase when it comes to speculation about his tweets and instagram posts. He is well aware of the various obsessions and has become very adept at playing with us on his terms. The proof of this for me was his favoring 2 particular tweets during a fan discussion about whining, unproductive comments on news articles. The first tweet was not tagged with his name in any way and the only way he would have found it was to have been either paying attention to specific fans or following back on specific conversations. He favorited that tweet hours after so he had to have been looking back pretty far in either conversations or specific peoples feeds. The second tweet was one stating the opinion that he was sending a message by favoriting the other tweet.

He would have been well aware of the speculations going on based on Sauli's instagram posts and could have chosen not to give any confirming information at all. He chose to post the photos that he did. By not posting actual pictures of them together he kept a certain degree of privacy about the exact nature of the relationship while at the same time confirming some of the speculations.

He seems to actually have less of a problem with the fan speculation than he does with the press. He knows what things the press will run with and what they won't. By doing things this way he gives us a little glimpse into his life without triggering endless press articles about on/off romances. The tabloids got nothing but we did.

I'm not saying there aren't lines crossed at times but in reality there has really been no greater speculation here than I have seen and heard in various social circles I've interacted with. I've overheard just as much or more assumption and speculation about ordinary peoples private lives during an average trip to a hair salon so there is nothing really extraordinary about this whole situation.
