Adam looked absolutely gorgeous as he did his all too brief introduction of Robyn. It was on the TV broadcast but for some inexplicable reason, LogoTV.com did not live stream Adam introing Robyn. Major online panic ensued. LogoTV quickly tweeted the scoop…and Ninjas filled in the gap.

1991 --- “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. This totally unlikely hit from late 1991 propelled Nirvana’s “Nevermind” to the top of the album charts at the start of 1992, considered the point where alternative rock entered the mainstream – and grunge took over the US music world for a few years.
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" was Nirvana's first and biggest hit, reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100 and placing high on music industry charts all around the world in 1991 and 1992. Picked as DDD’s #1 rock song of the 1990’s. www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/best_songs90s.html #9 on Rolling Stone Magazine list of "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" from November 2004.
I love this song but I do not want Adam to cover it. (It is one of the few songs I love that I really do not want to hear him sing.) But I do hope he is inspired by this and the other great songs that became unlikely hits and had lasting impact. I want Adam to have one of these songs some day. A song that captures the spirit of the times, the moment. That is what great popular music does – expresses the feeling that we have but can’t express on our own.
