You know, gabriella, I had some of those same feelings, the child is the father to the man. Queen will always be Queen, they are iconic, they are the soundtrack to so many people's lives, living legends. But Adam just shone with them, didn't he? Hard to imagine any other living singer carrying that off in such a charismatic confident respectful manner. And yet, as much as I can evaluate someone I have never ever met, I believe all the way down to my toes that Adam, in his heart of hearts, his true place, never for one minute forgets who Queen is, or feels above them. I'm fairly sure he has a realistic view of what he has brought to them, the magic of performing with a vocalist who does justice and more to their songs, but if he is the person I think him to be, he reveres Queen and their legend and their talent. And revels in being able to sing with them. And truly recognizes the honor of performing with them.Arrogant, schmarrogant. No one could ever convince me that the bolt of sunshine is arrogant. Confident? Yes, but he has earned that, IMO.I think for me, like you, gabriella, that the enduring amazement and joy I get from Adam has almost as much to do with who he is, how he presents himself, how he expresses his philosophy of life, how he treats people, his joy as it does with his voice. Plus, of course, could there be anyone hotter looking than this man? I tell you, sometimes genetics are unfair, because this boy was standing first in every line, wasn't he? Hair, eyes, face, body, vocal cords, positivity, he got them all. Amazing. Just amazing.

I saw the arrogance comments on QOL also. The item on the laundry list that I cannot really understand is the goat-boy comments. As someone who has seen QAL six times, and watched videos over and over again from this last tour, I am not detecting any overuse of vibrato. In fact, I detect hardly any at all (since EMAs), especially in these NYE performances, although I am no expert in music. Yet someone on QOL posted a video of Freddie doing BR/KQ medley and guess what? Freddie sounded like a goat. I just don't get it. This is not the first time I've seen the pot calling the kettle black. I've also seen comments that Adam is too gay, too OTT, too dramatic, Queen is now like a circus, etc. etc. I just don't get it. I can understand the goat vibrato. Usually that refers to the speed of the vibrato, not simply the overuse. (Don't know how the QOL people are meaning it). Adam always uses vibrato, unless he uses a straight tone on a note for effect. His vibrato is on the fast side for vocal vibrato. If it were any faster, I'd have a problem listening to it (personal preference). There are some vibratos that drive me insane (Johnny Mathis, Andrea Bocelli). Freddie's vibrato was quick but also small and unstable/uneven. Since a lot of people don't like vibrato, I can see why Adam's might bother them. It suits me just fine. Thanks, Holst. I remember prominent vibratos from Casey James and Jessica Sanchez on Idol. Also heard a prominent one from Alfie Boe on Bring Him Home recently but DH said it was supposed to sound like that (see told you I didn't know much about music). But if a lot of people don't like vibrato, wouldn't they dislike Freddie's also? His fans seem to think Freddie always sang perfectly no matter what but tend to nit-pick Adam to death.

Death has erased all of Freddie's flaws.

Not necessarily. Freddie's vibratto is different than Adam's. You can like one virbatto and not like another. In this case though I think the Adam vibrato argument is well overblown. It is all opinion, but in my view it was a more legitimate argument around Kiev. The first concert I wasn't a fan of Adam's vibrato and thought it was overpowering. But as the dates go on, his vibrato is far more subtle (and also perhaps the initial Kiev gig vibrato was at least partially fueled by nerves. Now either I'm used to it or it's gotten far more subtle. That argument to me doesn't hold much water. Actually very few arguments hold much weight with me by now...and all of them are basic different tastes..

Red Panda I totally agree. I have thought this all along about Adam, even since AI. If he was not the genuinely humble, down to earth guy that he is, I don't think I would still be here 5+ years later every single day following him on this journey. To me this just enhances his appeal 1000 fold. And yes Adam did hit the genetic jackpot!!!
