I just checked and with 41 days left he has around $41,500. Poor BeiBei. It's respectable, but it ain't Adam. ;D The fact that many (most) of Bieber's fans are tweens w/o access to credit cards may have a bearing... Because we are so devoted *and* represent a wider age range, we've been financially willing and able to support Adam in many ways. Win. Win.

Aw, this made me happy this morning! I actually saw Oh Land last night, completely unexpectedly. She was one of the 2 openers for the Scissors Sisters concert at The Warfield. Didn't know who she was at first, but I loved the sound, and she has a fun energy onstage. Also, she was wearing a dress/poncho thingy that was like a psychedelic version of Adam's ;D I downloaded her album, and I'm really liking it! Y'all know how much I love moody, angsty songs, and I'm in love with this one: The Scissors Sisters put on a great show, too. Fun and high-energy. The audience was easily half gay men of all ages, plus lots of hipsters, lol. Jake Shears jumps around like a maniac, wearing clothes that show off his great body, and then removing lots of them. Funny, though, I didn't really find his performance sexy (and I'm not sure it's actually meant to be.) Adam in a million layers exudes more sexiness with a single glance.

A little off topic, but not completely... As many of you know by now, I teach at a private college preparatory school. Our student body is all female. Yesterday some of my very bright and lovely thirteen year old students came in to interview me for an article they are doing for our school newspaper. They started talking about religion, and how they don't agree with some of the teachings of their churches, like the teaching against gay marriage and the belief that homosexuality is a sin. The interesting thing is that everyone in the room began listening, and nodding their heads in agreement. The room was full of girls hanging out and talking- typical nice, somewhat conservative, girls. It made me realize how much things are changing. By the time these girls are my age, the world will be a different place, and, for the most part, in that world, kids will be amazed that people used to react with prejudice when they saw two men or two women kissing, the same way kids in my classes today can't believe people would think twice about interracial relationships. That change is happening, and nothing any of the people who protest it are doing can stop it from coming. I asked them if there were things they liked about their faiths, and they came to the conclusion that you don't always have to throw the baby out with the bath water, just sometimes you need to get in and really clean out the tub, or enjoy the soap and water but move to the shower. Their analogies. I love my job and the young minds I get to teach. They teach me every day and make me realize and believe in the words another young girl close to their age wrote in a different generation in the middle of intolerance and hate. "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." (Anne Frank) See. This is what I am talking about. This post is a beautiful gem. I am cutting and pasting into my beautiful-gems-from-Atopia sheet. Love love love stories like this! The change was taking place very slowly but no longer. It is happening very quickly right now and it is damn exciting.

I read many comments on charity:water that spoke of Adam, but moreso of their desire to make the world a better place. That this is a charity people wanted to back. We are intelligent and loyal and WE SPEND MONEY!! Honestly, what artist wouldn't want us as a fanbase?? Srsly.

The book has an extensive chart at the beginning, but I'm sure you could find one on line. I'm a bad fan though, I haven't looked up Adam in there yet. My book is packed away right now because on a never ending remodeling project - but now I'm curious. : Adam's sign is either a Dog, or Rooster (if Chinese new year day was prior to Jan 29, 1982)[/quote From what I know (and my oldest son's a rooster) I'm guessing Rooster. Although I'm in a book group (formed pre-Oprah's) with very close friends and HALF of the 10 members are Dogs. So I'm okay with him being a Dog as well. I googled and found from 1-25-1982 to 2-12-1983 is sign of Dog. So Adam's sign is Aquarius Dog

No piggy banks were harmed in the funding of Adam's project. Yeah, I agree with the "reasons why" Adam did better. But the cynic in me just thought that when Beiber announced this in March, I just kind of thought that HE had a bit of a competitive motive. Maybe not, it's probably ME that felt competitive. AND I WON!! ;D
