Yes, Yes, YES!!! I finally found a real Apple adapter and now I'm baaaaack online for more than a moment!!! Boy, oh boy! I'm gonna let this puppy charge, read two days of thread, and then try to formulate a coherent thought and recap before another concert tomorrow! This is so much fun I feel almost guilty . . . What Will Adam Lambert's New Album Sound Like? It's a New Chapter For the 'American Idol' Runner-Up

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert is still on tour with rock band Queen, but don’t think for a second that he’s forgotten about his solo career. In fact, according to a recent interview with Billboard, Lambert will release a new single in April. That’s amazing news! The 32-year-old pop star also revealed that he’s now signed to Warner Bros. Records, and that his new album is being executive-produced by pop music legend Max Martin and Shellback. OK, that’s even more amazing news!
Martin and Shellback have crafted many memorable tunes together over the years (Lambert’s own “Whataya Want From Me,” for example), most recently helping Taylor Swift create her record-breaking pop opus, 1989. Martin told Billboard that “a voice and a talent” like Lambert’s “doesn’t come around very often,” and that he “can’t wait” for the world to hear the singer’s “dynamic” new material. Wow. So, what will Lambert’s upcoming third studio album sound like?
Lambert shared with GLAAD last August that he was heading in a “slightly different” musical direction, and it seems as though that’s still the case. He said to Billboard:
The album feels like a new era for me — emotionally, lyrically, sonically. It feels fresh, it feels new. It’s still me. It’s still stuff that fans know and love but it’s a new chapter 100 percent.
He continued:
I wanted something more internal and more grounded. A little less with the theatrical and the camp and the presentation. I wanted to bring it in a bit more. Being on the road with a British rock band, and being in London a lot this year, rehearsing with them and doing TV gigs, I think that has affected my sound and where we are headed with it. [Europe] is very ahead of the curve, or right on, and I was definitely influenced by that. Vocally, it’s very intimate compared to what I’ve done in the past. There is a little bit of a daring, deeper internal conflict and poetry about it.

I’ll definitely miss the camp of For Your Entertainment (the album artwork alone is iconic), but it’s great to hear that Lambert is continuing to grow and evolve as an artist. Lambert spent two months at the beginning of 2014 writing and recording with Martin, Shellback, and their team of talented musicians in Stockholm, Sweden, and I can’t wait to hear what they came up with! It won’t be too long now.
Billboard reports that Lambert’s new album is due out in “early summer.”
