And that mic bit is exactly why he will probably never be mainstream. Does he want to be, do we want him to be? It is appropriate behavior for an OTT frontman of a rock band, but will Adam ever be asked to sing the SSB at the Super Bowl? He is at the top of his game now, he can choose which way he wants to go. Don't sell him short- IMO Adam is very good about adjusting his performance style to suit the occasion. I recall the SSB at the military base in San Diego and he behaved perfectly and with the utmost respect for his audience. Exactly. Adam's not stupid. Before someone screams, "AMAs!" I would remind you that he did that performance after watching Rihanna march around the stage wearing next-to-nothing, and Gaga set fire to her piano. Other performers, including JLo, have gotten away with antics similar to Adam's so I do believe there was a double standard involved for a gay man. But we're not here to rehash that whole thing again. My point is just that Adam generally knows what is appropriate for a particular audience. His bit with the microphone is on par with what a lot of mainstream pop stars do onstage for an audience that expects a certain degree of sexual innuendo in a pop or rock concert.

Wow! What a delightful thought. Or perhaps he could have done some if the stuff he did with the mike on Sunday night. It was def PG-13. And that mic bit is exactly why he will probably never be mainstream. Does he want to be, do we want him to be? Lots of artists of various kinds are wilder in concert settings than on TV, radio, or at special events, fundraisers, etc. I think Adam can do that as well. My main concern about Adam's career in the future is that I won't be able to afford tickets except in the nosebleed seats. LOL *self-centered* peace&love
