Didn't glamberts plan to bring glow sticks to the concert to celebrate and sing HB to Adam? Wouldn't it be great if they got they whole arena to put their phones up and sing to Adam? Exactly. Adam's not stupid. Before someone screams, "AMAs!" I would remind you that he did that performance after watching Rihanna march around the stage wearing next-to-nothing, and Gaga set fire to her piano. Other performers, including JLo, have gotten away with antics similar to Adam's so I do believe there was a double standard involved for a gay man. But we're not here to rehash that whole thing again. My point is just that Adam generally knows what is appropriate for a particular audience. His bit with the microphone is on par with what a lot of mainstream pop stars do onstage for an audience that expects a certain degree of sexual innuendo in a pop or rock concert. youtube videos are not a particular audience.. But, as I pointed out in my post, many artists do suggestive and even blatantly sexy moves in concerts that can be found on YouTube. I don't think most people would reject Adam for doing the same, and I doubt he worries too much about those who would. Remember Kathie Lee Gifford on the E! special about Adam complaining that he's losing people like her for being too vulgar? Who the hell wants to appeal to Kathie Lee Gifford? Now THAT would be a career kiss-of-death, if you ask me! |
