I wanted to add my two cents. I've been in LA for the last 7 weeks working with lots and lots of people. Pretty much everyone knows Adam now and it is all in a very good way. I no longer wait for the raised eyebrow when I mention his name. There is no more AMA shit, no more AI references unless it is an explanation to an uninitiated cretin. Then it might be "that glam kid from AI" but I never heard it said in a disrespectful way. There is a lot of anticipation about his next album but in a very positive way not in a way where anyone is expecting him to fail or hoping he does. As always it is about the almighty dollar, but Adam's career (and how nice that it is the same with his personal life) seems to be right on track. There appears to be more need for Adam to be in competition with Bieber and B Spears from his fans than from people in the industry. His newly acquired toned down persona makes many feel more comfortable and now when he does glam it up they see it as performance art or a young buck being out on the town not as who he is as a real person. The Grammy nod was huge in this regard. All in all, no matter what happens with #2 and I think it will be great, Adam has a career that will keep growing and improving. With that voice there is no other possibility. Adam may not NEED the super superstardom that many of his fans need to feel that he has arrived. I could be wrong, but being a star, meeting people he has admired, working with people he considers talented, receiving props for his charity work, getting invited to places he would like to be, and knowing it is his voice that has gotten him here rather than some tricky PR moves engenders a quiet confidence that is a very good look on him. Thank you so much for sharing your information; makes me so happy for Adam. Thanks from me too. I'm printing out your post so I can refer to it when I get feeling worried or antsy. I know that your words come from experience in the business and they hold great weight with me. I think his Grammy nod was invaluable in adding gravitas(sp?) to his career.

tigerlily It is my impression from other peeps here (correct me if I'm wrong) that Bruno Mars is not selling arenas through out the world not even small venues in the US. I think we had this discussion once and we talked about the difference of an artist that you pay to see live and an artist who is always on Top 40 but you dont pay to see him live. But of course we all agree that we want the best for Adam. No, but he is selling millions and millions of singles and a ton of albums worldwide. Someone pulled up #s for his concerts over at MJs and his shows are around the same size as Adam's shows outside of the US. I don't know about inside the US? IMO, Pink has it all (hits, respect, arena tours) and Bruno has the hits and the respect. Bruno probably needs a couple more albums like this last one, if he wants to move up to touring in bigger venues. Adam can strive to be like Pink and have it all, due to the fact that he is a performer like she is. I'd say he has had an excellent start!! :D

He's such a sweetie. He sounds genuinely touched and excited about nearing 1M followers. Most of any Idol alum I think.

This station is in Birmingham, Alabama ! I know this is teeny in the grand scheme of things, but I just got back from my local Walmart and of course I had to check and re-arrange the GN Dvds. Last week they had re-stocked the 2 I had bought for a total of 4. Today, there was only 3 ! Someone in my hick town bought a GN Dvd. I wish I knew who it was ! It is wonderful that it is BHam!! Request it for all of us, since you are in Bama! This means we will have to keep requesting on Q102 whether it makes the 10@10 or not!!

They added a second night in LA at a venue that holds just over 5,000.
