You know how you can be close with all your friends at work? You spend more time with them than family. You share stories with one another on breaks and when work is slow. You have many shared experiences. Then, you get a new job and at the going away party promise to keep in touch, to stop back to visit, to get together regularly. Because you are not just colleagues, you are friends, right? How many of them were still a part of your life a year later? Five years later? That happens with performers all the time. You bond with your current band members, cast members. You share highly emotional times, good and bad. When the show closes, when the band breaks up, you go your separate ways. Most of the time there is no animosity, but the things that bound you together no longer occur. You no longer have things in common, things to talk about. It is going on almost two years since Adam toured with his band. A couple of one off gigs, private parties, but basically no interaction since then on a professional level. Adam has gone on in his career, had many new projects, created new bonds with new musicians and cast members. I am sure Tommy has done the same. It's a business, and if he wants to work, he has to go where the work is. I hope there are only fond memories of their previous work together. I hope they keep in touch from time to time. Hope it is all good. ( Hope Adam has a new guitarist next time he tours.) well said cassie...especially the bolded part LOL

Tommy instagrammed this photo yesterday with the caption, "no caption needed". It is a photo of the Beatles before they fired Pete Best as the drummer and hired Ringo Starr. Of course we do not know exactly what it means, nor do his followers. As of now, he is getting all kinds of 'I love the Beatles too' type replies, which is pretty hilarious. Only time will tell if it is a hint about his relationship to Adam. "No Caption Needed" is pretty clear, for me.

The Tommy/Pete Best comparison could be especially apt, because the main reason the Beatles let Pete go was because people from their record label (I think it was George Martin, their producer) didn't think he was good enough. Also, John Lennon and (especially) Paul McCartney didn't think Pete fit the image of a big-time band. The guys all felt bad about asking Pete to leave, but they had their manager give him the bad news because it was a business decision, not personal.
I like Tommy and wish him well. But, well, he's just not on the same musicianship level as Brian May or Nile Rodgers. Just sayin.
And I second Rufus' nomination for the drummer slot.
