I think Adam is looking and sounding greater than ever. However, he was gorgeous and sounded amazing in 2012 when QAL played Hammersmith. Why was he looked at askance and barely accepted by many in that iteration, whereas the accolades and praise are unbelievable this time? Granted Glamberts can explain in great detail what is different about every single performance. They would notice. But the general public and the media? What is so markedly different and superior this time around? Was it the PR and marketing work? The iHeart festival? I don't get it. I am thrilled to see Adam accorded the acclaim he so deeply deserves. I guess I should not look this gift horse or media horse in the mouth, huh? Every single day I've been wondering this exact same thing. I don't get it, either.

I am normally the most analytical and overthinking and 'I just need to know' person that you can find. But this time I don't give a shit why. I just think it is marvellous!! If somebody talks bad about Adam the Queenies are defending him now!! He has become even better though, and more confident. He is more part of Queen now. (See, I have been thinking about it, just can't help myself)

As long as it comes...and in Adam's case ,It's just more world wide fame.. He has been a star for years now.....I don't need to go further than being very thrilled for all Adam's success.

I can only guess why Adam is getting such acclaim now.
You can try to add up some of the things that are different from 2012, but mostly I think it's Brian and Roger taking a risk on the big shows. That and getting the TV big spot on NYE. However, I don't think British TV would have been as interested if the big UK concerts weren't on the table.
You could ignore the relatively small Hammersmith in 2012, but it seems to me that the media couldn't ignore sold out arenas in 2014 (oops!) 2015.

I am thrilled to see Adam accorded the acclaim he so deeply deserves. I guess I should not look this gift horse or media horse in the mouth, huh? Here is my take.... I was at the 2012 Hammersmith shows and I was also lucky to have been able to see 4 of the 2015 UK shows. There is no comparison between the two. For starters, it is about the entire band and how Adam performs with them. Go back and read the reviews from both the critics and Queen fans -- they were mostly critical of Brian and Roger. Adam was learning how to be a frontman in 2012. As a vocalist he was great in 2012, as a frontman, he was not great. He barely spoke and played only a small role in the audience participation leadership. He also appeared to be unsteady about the lyrics to some of the songs. Listen to TYMD or FBG from Hammersmith. Adam sang the songs but the performance factor was lacking (compared to now). For example, SSOR 2012: youtu.be/2E4u2J5Ntdw?list=RD2E4u2J5NtdwAnd SSOR 2015: youtu.be/rHF1-18Wl3IBut, for me, the biggest change was something I saw in the UK shows that I had not seen fully developed in the US/Canadian shows. He commanded the audience -- up to the top level of the arenas. JMHO Being frontman for Queen is about more than being a lead vocalist. It is about leading a huge audience in a shared musical experience.

Oooh, I just caught up on the thread and I was going to make a joke about the single title, but now you're all being deep (which I also enjoy). Anyhow, my joke was -- he's doing a cover of "Man in the Mirror." Ha ha! But I like the idea of "Blue-Eyed Rhapsody" -- so that is my $5.00. I was in the shallow end as well and made a joke

What is this 5 bucks down for naming Adam's single?? Halp, which thread did it start on? Totes missed it. Anyway, my 5 bucks is for 'FINALLY' And I could hug Warner Brothers for their tweets already for Adam's new single and album. What a change from prior roll-outs!! They are on point. Can they really wait until April? Adam's aflutter, he KNOWS his first single and doesn't look remotely like it was forced on him. Proactive Adam, Warner Brothers, DMG and Edge Publicity. And a personal trainer. Geez. QAL and A3..so much goodness.

First the Idol platform, now the Queen platform. I'd say you can have the talent, many do, but Adam is the whole "larger-than-life-package." We often cite "balls of steel," but it is also perserverance and continually upping his game. Had he stayed solely his Zodiac/GNT self, his musical theatre self, or his Idol self, he wouldn't be where he is today. Strategic, clever, quick study--he has rolled the best of all of his selves into the polished performer we see today.
As Q3 said, he will go higher. It seems the relaxed, even more confident performer that we see now, is partly Adam knowing he will get to entertain the rest of his life.
I'm not sure Adam could have a better gig/platform than Queen and their talent and catalogue, but I am sure he is "taking it all in." Heartened by Queen's longevity and their varying musical styles, also supports his artistic sensibilities. How wonderful it must feel to be appreciated and validated for all his hard work and risk-taking.
I'm so hoping he gets an opportunity to do a James Bond movie theme song, now that the timing seems so right.
