As the band launches into opening track One Vision it is May and Taylor who seem to be the 10ft giants on stage while Lambert, a super skinny George Michael leather-clad Faith-era look-a-like, valiantly attempts to achieve the sheer power the song demands. Excellent visual - now if we could just put "buff" in there somewhere. One of the UK reviewers described Adam as "the fresh faced kid"!! He is only few years younger than Freddie was when he died, and has been a trained singer and musician from about the same age!! I think the UK thinks they have just discovered him!! I can say this because I am English!! I do hope they drop the comparisons when the new album comes out!! There was another review or commentary that described Adam as in his 20's.

Excellent visual - now if we could just put "buff" in there somewhere. I had to laugh at the "super skinny" comment after all the years of seeing comments about how "fat" Adam is, lol! I think he's looking great! That training is really paying off! Even after all these years, I get hot thinking about all the "fat and ugly" comments Adam got during Idol and beyond. Particularly since he never was either. So, in a way, all the now-ubiquitous DAAAAAAMMMNNN!!! and Lord, he's hot! exclamations are awesome to see. And, in a way, its a smidge pang-worthy as sometimes I wonder if this buff-super slinky Adam might be as much (or more) in response to the trolls scoffing at his looks versus him just growing into himself and the required athleticism of the frontman role. <shrugs> I don't spend scads of time thinking about it, but occasionally when I look at old reviews I still feel pissed.

Review of Nottingham show from Ian-Highlander on Queen Online forum:
We arrived in Nottingham at about 5.30pm and after eventually finding the car park we were aiming for, a five minute walk later and we were at the arena. The queues were really short at that time, to the point I was worried we were queueing in the wrong place for a while
7pm came round and finally the gates were opened and we made our way down into the arena, really surprised to see that only the first two or three rows had filled up in front of the stage in the standing area so we chose a spot the same distance away from the main and sub stages.
Despite a few idiots trying to push their way through, (one particular couple got unceremoniously shoved back out of the way by me when they decided they could just turn up at 8pm and stand directly in-front of us, I can't abide self righteous arseholes like that, on the flip side one lady who was struggling to see because she was rather shorter asked very nicely if she could possibly come in-front of me and as it had no impact on us, I moved over to let her in, a bit of manners is all it takes, why won't people learn...), anyway, the general banter in the crowd was good, atmosphere was great and a lot of joking and laughing going on.
8pm came and what everyone assumed was the intro starting up caused huge cheers and clapping, but then slowly died off, this happened a few times and by 8.20 people were starting to wonder what was going on. Then there was a lot of clapping and cheering and people standing and taking photos to our left from the edge of the stage. Very quickly the word that it was Jer (Freddie's mum) rippled back through the crowd and everyone was cheering. Two minutes later and out went the lights and it started.
The show itself... one word, awesome. The crowd (at least in the standing area) were at their usual Queen crowd best.
The band were on fire, I haven't seen Roger and Brian play like that in a long time, every one of them were obviously having fun and it just seemed to make them even better. Adam just seems to fit, he suits the band and is a great showman, he played the crowd perfectly and boy, what a voice, he has an incredible range, hit almost everything absolutely note perfect.
There were times when Brian looked like he was suffering a bit, but it didn't come out in his playing if he was, Rogers drumming I'm sure gets better every time I see him, although he's letting Rufus do more and more now. Rufus himself did an outstanding job adding additional drums throughout and especially in the drum battle and when he played the full set for TYMD.
Highlights for me:
The drum battle was incredible. We were an even distance between both sets of drums with Rufus on the main stage to our left and Roger on the sub stage to our right and with the main speakers directly over our heads, the effect was sensational, especially when they started playing the beginning of let there be drums together.
Brian telling the whole crowd Jer was there and then turning to her and saying "mama, this one's for you" (I think that's what he said). The entire crowd went mental at that point especially when they put her up on the main screen.
WWTLF was superb, Adam got it just perfect in my opinion. Throughout the entire show he did everything just about perfect actually and showed incredible respect towards Freddie and the Queen legacy, something he went up in my opinion very quickly for.
Anyway, enough said, it was a fantastic concert, we both came away absolutely buzzing but knackered from the dancing and hoarse from shouting and singing.
Last word on the matter, I went to this with an open mind, I haven't really watched much of the QAL stuff prior to the show and wasn't sure what I was going to think, I loved Q+PR but Q+AL blew that out of the water, Adam is a much better fit for the band, has better showmanship, a ridiculous range and can hit that entire range perfectly and you can see the boys are loving playing with him. I'm converted and I don't care what anyone else says on here, regardless of my opinions of Adam prior to this show, he did an amazing job on this, top marks.
Didn't take many pics and most of what I did take came out shit because they were taken on a camera phone whilst dancing, but here's a few (sorry for crap quality).
