Cassie. When end you heard the high pitchy note. Is this. Because he was forcing it. Not within his range. I noticed the one time when he was hitting those high notes he had his foot on the speaker and squeezed his groin as if to push all the air he could to hit that high note was it a note that is attainable for him or just somewhat off As we have noticed sometimes I 've heard Briam miscue. Not often but there are booboo's. Lol. The high notes can be off in pitch for a couple of reasons. First, eliminate the most common, which is that he cannot hear himself or the backing band. If he has been on pitch for the rest of the song, that doesn't apply. It can be because he is using a lot of force to hit those very high notes. We know he can hit up to a Bb5, but I would say that D5, Eb5, E5 is the top of his normal comfort zone. (He basically sings no higher than that during the current QAL concerts, but sings those in multiple songs without changing posture to do so.) The very high note at the end of TSMGO is an F#5, a full step higher than his comfort level. It is also the highest note in riffs at the end of STL. He hit it pretty consistently at the beginning of the QAL North American tour, but during the second half, struggled with it by either missing the pitch or his voice cracking. I imagine that is due to vocal fatigue. The other reason has to do with accuracy of the muscle adjustments. The higher the note, the finer and more exact the muscle adjustments have to be. Just like the difference between a violin, a cello, and a bass. On the high notes of a violin, just rocking your finger on the string the slightest bit changes the pitch higher or lower. On the low notes of the bass, you may have to move your hand a couple of inches up the string to play a note one step higher. So, when Adam is hitting those insanely high notes, there is no wiggle room, no room for error. The most minuscule change in his vocal cords and muscles can mean the difference between being on pitch or flat or sharp. Hope that helps explain what you are hearing.

Oh Cassie again. Im always behind here but you hit the nail on the head describing an musician vs a technicinan!!! I've seen the difference when teaching classical dance. I had students who technically performed steps in succession but lyricism and flow were missing. There is a difference. Bravo. Hopefully people will understand the need for musicians this era3 around. (Hint. Adam) Thanks. Your dance analogy is spot on!

I think I need to join you behind that couch. I didn't hear a crack in Adam's voice because I didn't listen to the song. I don't like the way Adam sings TSMGO. I don't know how to explain what's wrong, but it makes me want to run out of the room before I realize I just need to find the off button. While I'm confessing, I don't like FYE either. I'll join you 4Ms I don't listen to this one because I just don't like the harmonics of the song. The notes always sound off to me and the melody just grates. Didn't like it when Freddie sang it and don't like Adam singing it (so unlikely I'd like anyone). Would be interesting to hear it done in an acoustic style with the bombast stripped out of it. The lyric is actually quite haunting... hmmm. I think I'll join the crowded couch...that is one Queen song that I never watch for videos. And I thought I was the only one Phew...

I used to watch Dance Moms with Maddie, the girl from Sia's videos, and she was such a stand out on the show from the very beginning, but there was another girl, Chloe who would compete against Maddie and often come up short. Not because she couldn't perform the dances properly, she had the technique to accomplish the moves proficiently, but she lacked flow in her movements. With Maddie one move flows effortlessly into the next, there is no break in movement, it is like watching water flow. For Maddie dance is just a natural part of her movement; whereas Chloe is just repeating the steps she has learned.
That's why Brian is such a fantastic guitarist while Tommy is merely proficient. Brian was born to play guitar, just as Adam was born to sing.
