Haha, so funny the Google translation for "banane"! That happens a lot with colloquialisms! Last night's "putain" (ptn), for example, which was used as an expletive of deep appreciation or wonder, even though the primary meaning of the word is "whore". In the context of the article, "banane" refers to Adam's hairstyle and means "quiff". I speak "school" French with in no way equips me to understand real French. Some of the expressions really loose a lot in translation -- but "banane" really went right over my head -- I thought it was slang for something else!
