Found an awesome post on Tumblr by a Queen fan who attended Paris. ghbetbeze.com/post/109300014614/we-did-rock-youWe Did Rock You (google translate) Yesterday I saw Queen on stage for the 3rd time. 3 times post-Freddie, of course, I was 10 when he died, it was (I was) a little short. The first time was in Paris in 2003 with Paul Rodgers. The second time was in Moscow in 2008, again with Paul Rodgers, the day after my birthday I was slightly started, inevitably, Moscow + anniversary is usually a pretty good combo. And then last night at the Zenith with the (much) younger Adam Lambert. And I'm happy to be back. Paul Rodgers is a good musician (Leader of Free and Bad Company), but, in my opinion (and not only mine), not the middle of a Freddie Mercury and certainly not in the same vibe as Queen, more blues-rock this unlikely mix of rock-pop-metal classic that was (is) Queen. In short, I went there because I could not not go (Queen is THE band that shaped my musical sensitivity), and I loved seeing Brian May on stage to do his solo in "Brighton Rock" and the group replay classic (rock) that formed my youth, but say that the gap between Queen and Paul was audible at all times. And then came Adam Lambert. Fan (rather) confessed Queen (he sang nothing less than "Bohemian Rhapsody" for his American Idol audition) the vigor of youth (a good three decades younger than Brian May and Roger Taylor) and a remarkable voice ... . Yesterday, he not only has brilliantly taken over some of the most beautiful songs of modern music (with a voice that is certainly not that of Freddie Mercury, but is of such power and such precision, especially in treble, Freddie can sleep easy knowing that his repertoire is honored), but it also brought new energy and enthusiasm in both historical shills that was absolutely palpable. And the son of Roger Taylor, Rufus, 23, came to the second battery add this youthful vigor that is inseparable from the rock. In short, I know of few musicians of this generation - and I say this with all the objectivity I'm capable of - that can still ignite as thousands of people without explicitly using nostalgia - maybe Paul McCartney - and Adam Lambert clearly contributed to the phenomenon.

Haven't posted in a while. RL and keeping up with all the concerts, vids and posts are taking up most of my time. But I just watched the UP vid by kinkykeidis on P.1 andI have to ask: Am I the only one who thinks Adam's singing here is SO much louder and clearer than usual? I am quite familiar with the song after all this time....and I know there are a lot of "nonsense" lyrics...but here his voice is crystal clear (to me). I heard lyrics that I missed so many times before! Am I the only one? ::dancing1- P.S. Using this real excuse to post so I can check out my new tag line......... #NoIDontHaveAFruitFetish

All her vids from Leeds are like that. We think she somehow was right in front of Adam's monitor or speaker or something! But something special was going on between her camera and Adam's mic! It is phenomenal! Be sure to watch all her Leeds videos!

SHERZIKAT!!!! WOWOWOWOW!!!!! SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU !!!! [img style="max-width:100%;" src=" [img style="max-width:100%;" src=" " style="max-width:100%;font-weight:bold;"]</img> folks, if I may, Sherzi is a real OG! my long term Adam friend from another board, an author of many a great post! [img style="max-width:100%;" src=" Thanks, Nica and others, for the warm welcome! Nica, I'm very curious (and obviously unenlightened!) -- what's an OG???! And how do I quote your post without adding to what you've written, in the same colour block? Coaching needed.... The default setting for the posting box is Preview. I find it much more difficult to make a proper post using that view, so I hit the BBCode button before I write anything. You can easily see where the last post ends so your own post doesn't end up in the someone else's quote box. You are less likely to try to put a word in italics only to find that the italics are stuck to everything thereafter. Before you hit the Create Post button, you can check it by switching back to Preview. EditI don't remember what OG means. Hope someone tells you so I can find out, too. It isn't necessary to switch to the Preview setting before you post. You'll probably want to for a while, though. Edit 2 I haven't tried posting from a phone or tablet, so can't help you with that. Thanks, Nica and others, for the warm welcome! Nica, I'm very curious (and obviously unenlightened!) -- what's an OG???! And how do I quote your post without adding to what you've written, in the same colour block? Coaching needed.... <laughs> Proboards has made this occasionally tricky. The secret is to place your cursor at the very bottom, outside of the colored boxes and start typing from there. However the computer gremlins sometimes won't let you in. In that case (if it bugs you), you blow a raspberry at the screen and click the "BBCode" tab (it's under where you type), and from that screen stick your cursor after the "[ /quote ]" code and type away. Switch back to "Preview" before sending. However, every single one of us periodically mess up the boxes, so it's understand not really worth sweating! ETA: Or what 4M's said!
