Here is TALC of Merriweather WWTLF - no cracks but definitely bum note around 1.56... definitely sounds tired - puts a couple of pauses and falling off where he usually sings through the phrases. Only near crack I could make out is near end at about 3.26. LOL man we are such sad cases that we know every nuance of a song so well that we can pick up this stuff. To everyone else it probably still sounded stupendous. Over to better trained ears than mine. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7juzKiqvZtc#t=126

Crack? Bobble? I do think it is his voice, not the sound equipment. So, he is human after all.

Amongst night after night of outerworldly perfection and stupendous performances I am ok with a couple of bum notes. #adamishumanafterall

I was at MPP and I heard what you were talking about, It scared me when I heard it, It almosted sounded like he blew out his microphone, Almost like a bum note on brian;s guitar. But when no one said anything I thought I was just hearing things. I have been anxious about tonight's show but I am sure he has rested.

My only thought (after the tenth listen) was that if it were a badly sung note at 1:54 because of fatigue or whatever, Adam would surely have known it - and I don't think he would have tried it again at the end. He seems to perfectionist to do that.

You know what, Cassie. I heard that weird sound and noticed it. But at that moment I thought I heard the so called chipmunk sound. And I heard it twice. But then I said to myself, no, it ain't chipmunk sound. Because what I heard were some unusual high frequencies. Like, really unusual and really high. At least that was what it sounded live to me. But I still can't figure out what exactly was that.

The Show Must Go On is not on the Boston set list. And if I'm hearing correctly, he's adjusted WWTLF. I can understand that fans are disappointed but at the same time, I'm happy he's taking care of his instrument. Gelly @14gelly · 53s WWTL VID instagram.com/p/qxm12_EIPk/

voice cracks? I mean, "cracks" were high.
I am still not sure. It did not sound like a crack to me when I heard it live.

You may be right that what I am hearing is some strange poltergeist in the sound system. I talked to smokeyvera who attended the concert. She said the venue SUCKED and the sound wasn't good. I asked her about WWTLF and she said his voice definitely did NOT crack. She said he was on fire all evening. Whew that is a relief. Of course, then I am back to "He is not human!" I was in the 1st row exactly at the tip of the thrust at Merriweather. It was the absolutely best sound of all 7 concerts that I have been to!!! So, as in real-estate, I think it all depends on location, location, location! But, when I listened to my audio recording on the plane on the way home, I heard what sounded like a couple of high pitched shrill notes in WWTLF. But I'll swear up and down that I did not hear any such notes live at my location!!! So, I do think that it has to do with the frequency response of the microphones. (The frequency response is a curve indicating how loudly a listening device picks up sound at each frequency over a range of frequencies.) My mics were hidden under my clothes rather than attached to my glasses as usual because there was a security guy standing right in front of me all night. This resulted in a bit of a muted sound and also likely changed the frequency response of the mics. And, there was a slight breeze where I was sitting. Mics are much more sensitive to wind noise than human ears. Thus a wind can cause heavy distortion on recorded audio. Although I don't think I am hearing any wind noise on my recording. And when Adam hits a high note, there is also the matter of how his mic and the amps responds to that frequency, both of which could be affected by the outdoor conditions. But the Atop member KVK sitting next to me said she though that Adam & Brian at times had a chipmunk effect sound. Different people's ears also have a different frequency response. So it may be that the high frequency sounds at the Merriweather were such that people and devices with a sensitivity to high frequencies hear a different sound than others.
