I love that behind the curtain video!! This introvert has absolutely no idea how performers do it. Watching him get ready was giving me butterflies. This weekend has been soooooo busy. Which are the "don't miss" songs from Amsterdam? Looked like a great concert. We're already going into another concert today. Lots of catching up to do.

Not sure what thread to put this one, so hope this is right. Tonight (Saturday) on CBC Radio's Vinyl Cafe, legendary Canadian rocker Randy Bachman, who hosts the show, played a mash-up of Queen's Fat Bottomed Girls and The Beatles Come Together around 7.30 pm. He then talked about both bands (as he does) saying the Brain is one of the greatest guitarists in history - (and Randy should know as he played lead guitar with his band The Guess Who and Bachman-Turner-Overdrive) and said he had heard Queen in the 1970s and again last year when he went to 3 concerts with Adam Lambert. He had effusive praise for Adam and said that after the New Years show in London (he has an apartment there and saw the concert) he was so impressed that he wrote to Brian May telling him how great the show was. Brian May wrote back saying "Adam is a GFG" - Gift from God, that he has revitalized the band & that they are releasing a new album in the next year with some old tunes recorded with Freddie and some new tunes recorded with Adam. That's the first I've heard that Adam will be recording material with Queen but he definitely said it. Did any other Canadians hear the show? I'm going to Email Randy to confirm that Brian actually said they are recording with Adam. Melisende, I was trying to look up this show to see if there is a Podcast or anything. I'm finding CBC's "Vinyl Cafe" has podcasts up to last weekend. However, it is hosted by Stuart McLean. A search for Randy Bachman brings up CBC's "Vinyl Tap" program. I'm not finding any old programs to listen to later last Nov. Maybe someone else will have better luck searching. Not the same interview but Randy Bachman talked about QAL back in December here; www.songfacts.com/blog/interviews/randy_bachmanQAL bits Songfacts: You just mentioned the show American Idol. And I always think it's funny that probably the greatest singer that it has spawned, Adam Lambert, didn't even win his season - he came in second place [to Kris Allen]. Since its first season in 2002, American Idol has become an incredibly popular television show in America. However, while a few of the contestants and/or winners have gone on to build their own successful careers (Lambert, Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks), for the majority, success on the show does not translate to sustained chart success. But the question remains... why hasn't this gentleman gone on to great things? Randy: I know. And I just saw him with Queen twice and he's amazing. He's the new Freddie Mercury. I know Brian May real well and Roger Taylor, and they are just so energized by having Adam there. Their show was fantastic. I saw their second show of the tour in Winnipeg. They did Chicago then Winnipeg, and I just saw them in Toronto about three weeks ago. They are just amazing. Read more: adamtopia.com/thread/578/people-talking-adam?page=3#ixzz3QWRn2ZW1
