lyndseyparker Lyndsey Parker Boo! Lady Gaga rejects Weird Al Yankovic's "Born This Way" parody. Hear it here anyway! yhoo.it/fMzMv336 minutes ago The parody is brilliant; so clever. Adam tie-in (apart from Lyndsey being fangirl); He uses a quote from Adam in one line 'every day is Halloween' Good enough? I like his version better.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNNE!!!!!!!!!!! What's w the fascination of a skull? His accessories, belt buckles, rings, tie tac all have a similar tribute to the skull. Soooooooooo maybe the skull is what he is having done. Skulls always signify death to me, therefore, I don't like skulls..ugh...I can think of other images. oh well. I agree...My 29 son like skulls too. Maybe it reminds them both of their childhood enjoying the HeMan Skeletor charactor. LOL Hubby like skulls too, but that's Harley Davidson related. I was thinking that I might want to expand my little infinity tattoo with some aspect of whatever Adam winds up doing .....but can't see me with a skull head on my wrist.. LOL I bought my 50 year old husband an incredibly cool shirt with (subtle) skulls all over it - it is his favorite shirt. Love a good skull.

Sorry - I don't buy it. I think Clay's problems had more to do with his music not being radio friendly. If this really dictated how the press/dj's/etc treated an artist, Gaga wouldn't get any play at all. Her little mosters will go after anyone who doesn't worship at her feet. What about Beyonce's fans - the stuff they were tweeting at her label (Sony? Capital?) the other day make the BSC Glamberts look like fluffy little kittens! Or even the C. Brown fans who blast anyone who dares mention their guy's criminal record. I also have to believe the Beiber fans are the kings/queens of group fan organized assults and it sure hasn't hurt him. When DJs/PDs claim that the "fans" are causing them to not play I think it is nothing but an excuse so they don't have to flat out admit that they just don't want to play the artist for other reasons of their own - whether that reason is bias, lack of payola or actually has a sound business reason. I hate to say it but I think because Adam (and Clay) are from AI their fans are looked upon a little differently than say a Gaga or Bieber fan. It's unfair but that's how it is. Clay initially had radio friendly music and his fourth album On My Way Here has a lot of radio friendly music but his fans harrassed, badgered and attacked DJs who dared make even the slightest joke about him being gay...not to mention they would spam every poll he was included in so they refused to play him after his first single Invisible. I think the difference between Adam and Clay is that Adam has the grace to smooth things over with the media/DJs whereas Clay was just as shitty as his fans to these people. He hung up on more than one interviewer when he didn't like the questions. Adam will be fine despite his BSC fans IMO although I do think it could be dialed back a bit LOL The PDs and DJs didn't want to play Clay's music because it wasn't what their listeners wanted to hear. Aiken was a joke to them and to those outside the Idol Bubble. The radio listeners just weren't interested in hearing his songs on the radio. Adam's songs aren't getting airplay because he "controls his fans". Adam has the same obstacles that all Idol contestants have. Thankfully, Adam is culturally relevant, interesting, and out-of-the-box talented. Clay was none of these things. Adam will be fine despite his BSC fans in the same way Daughtry, Beyonce, or Beiber will be fine despite their BSC fans.

I am going to make this weird sort of 'confession'...for lack of a better word...regarding some pics of Adam. I was reminded of this by the last part of that vid. by details of that photo shoot. I am struck by the similarity in some of Adam's picturs, to my father!! Freudian moment coming up so scroll if you wish!! ??? : It is not that my father looked like ADam or vice versus..but there is something in the mouth that is so 'in my face' when Adam is showing that big, full grin he does sometimes. It is only in and around the mouth but it throws me off every time. This may not be so bad/disturbing if it were not for the fact that I had a very ambivalent and contentious relationship with my father [he passed away almost 15 years ago now] as he was often an abusive man ...more to my mother and brother.... as I tended to fight back more than they. Still, it is really disturbing to look at some of the pictures of him and see my dad....talk about emotional dissonance!! I just went looking for a photo to show what I meant and I realize it is only in the performance vids...when he is posing or in rl it is not there...but when he is all sweaty and has been showing his sexy side and then he breaks into that huge grin....yikes...that is my dad's mouth. go figure....analyze me...it is not pleasant...I don't like the look at all. It is not the campy 'aren't I the naughty one'...it is the big, fleshy, open grinned one that you all go...'he sure is having fun isn't he?'! scary thoughts.....sigh....'be gone damned vision!'... oh dear! That WOULD be a tad disturbing!

The PDs and DJs didn't want to play Clay's music because it wasn't what their listeners wanted to hear. Clay's first single Invisible was a modest/moderate hit. I don't know if he started out that way but he certainly became that very quickly and his fans kept requesting his music even though radio refused to play it. That turned PDs and DJs off big time. Can you explain what this means? I don't understand what you're saying. There are no longer obstacles for "idols" per se. Kelly Clarkson broke that barrier with her Breakaway album IMO and there have been far to many idol hit singles to believe there is some radio stigma keeping idols off the radio. If the music is good and the label supports the song it can and will get played in 99% of cases. Clay shot himself in the foot by not wanting to "taint" his goody goody image, which was a facade anyway. That's what I said so we agree....

Now, I could do a small feather, esp, peacock colors...., but don't want a bird (like on Sauli's chest....I Iike his floral arm much better.) MyS*&@^#r...just saw your post...I'll have to check out the pretty skulls....You never know. btw... Are you and Cayman still planning on getting tattoos soon? Cayman has to postpone her trip to LA, but eventually, "Yes." And I am still thinking about a Dragonfly. I adore Dragonflies ! Was seriously thinking for a long time about getting a small one with blacks and royal blues either above my ankle or on my chest above a boob....but my chest is getting wrinkly and no one would see it and I don't wear shorts anymore, so I just went with my wrist. I kinda like the idea of top of your foot it you wear sandals a lot.

I'm not sure that is 100% correct. There is an Idol bias among "too cool for school" music fans. I'm pretty sure it probably exists among some radio PDs also.

I don't think that area will ever sag ;D and it is a place where I can see it! I should be able to enjoy seeeing my own, tattoo, right?! I am picturing my Dragonfly in shades of blue, purple, and a deep teal.

HELP! ??? whudimiss whudimiss?! Been gone for five days hiking in utah (I know, life is hard!) where i saw this: which was, um, very womb-like; (LOL--one of the instructions, I swear to god, before we entered the canyon? "no naked photo-shoots" : Not Me.) And this: and hiked, against my better judgment, up this: But it means I missed all THIS. SO: I've skimmed as best I could, but I'm a crappy skimmer. The best I can gather is that Adam, in a Tony Stark disguise, has been spotted riding, totally stoned, around NYC on a gaga-headed motorcycle while carrying a baby who's sucking the thumb of a hot naked model covered in skull tattoos, yes? Did I miss anything? Is that about right? And the whole thing is a stunt to promote marriage equality in New York so that he and Sauli can get hitched while there? LOL love our boy and his ridiculous chair. Let me know if there is any agonizing hotness that i've missed. Any new collabs. Any fantastic photos. Anything too hilarious to resist. (PS--am caught up on his tweets and on the cherrific photos.) Totally different note: I completely agree with the points made today about scary over-invested Adam-fans and their damagingly-aggressive comments. I am a frequent cringe-er on this front, and most of the time try not to even read the stuff because, as NoAngel might say, it makes me stabby, as well as worried (probs unnecessarily) about how it affects Adam and his career. However, I do want to make one point: We're dealing with a slightly different situation here than, say, with the BSC that hovers around Gaga's supporters and detractors, for example. Many many times when adam "fans" go apeshit it is unreasonably and unproductively. But frequently they are also responding to a form of bigotry--homophobia--that is in many circles still totally accepted in our culture. Even essentially well-meaning people who think of themselves as being in favor of gay rights, in theory, unconsciously participate in insulting and derogatory humor all the time. Others are simply intentionally and idiotically hateful. The only way this will change is if they are, gently, or, of the occasion demands it, not so gently, called on it. A lot of important activism is dismissed with a sneering comment about political correctness, and we forget that this so-called "political correctness" is what got us some fantastic political progress, such as suffrage, and equal opportunity admissions and employment. I suspect that a lot of the time when djs or pop-journalists or others whine about Adam fans, it is highly justified, but many other times their offense, and subsequent defensiveness, may spring from an inherent, even if inadvertent, homophobia. And while I am not particularly good at calling it out, because I am allergic to comment sections, I am often impressed with those who do, especially if they do it well (and I readily admit that many "glamberts" do it badly, with reference only to Adam, as opposed to the wider problem). I try to run the following test: if the supposedly offensive commentary had been made about a black man, with shades of "well-intentioned" racism, as opposed to about a gay man, with shades of "well-intentioned" homophobia, would I swallow my outrage as easily, and pat myself on the back for turning the other shoulder? And would the dj, or writer, or whoever, in question get quite as comfortably self-righteous about the ensuing outrage? It is important to remember, after all, that as happy as Adam is, and as well as he is doing, and as widely loved as he is, he is still a member of a group of people that is systematically and openly and legislatively denied a series of very basic rights in this country that most Americans take for granted. But yes, let's keep the bat-shit to a low hum, hmmm?
