You could hear that his voice has clicked back into place. In Frankfurt and even a bit in Milan you could hear him thinking through the note to sing. That intuitive place that his great technique allows him to sing from had to be overridden because he was sick. We've all been there - when something is hurting and you have to navigate around what would normally be automatic. Tonight we didn't hear any of that. Back to being the kid going down the hill on his bike with arms and feet spread out "weeeeeee look at what I can do"... I just have to reply on this a bit more. In Milan, when he sang Save Me, you could hear a bit of gruffness in his voice, at times. I hate that I loved it, because I think it might have been painful for him, but it sounded SO good, too. And, when he went down the stairs and got a drink of (tea? water?), I knew for sure that his throat was dry. He doesn't usually do that in this song, but I still loved his singing so much. Ok, have to go and listen to it again...lol! Hope vids come up soon. This concert was glorious!!!!!!!!!! |
