I was so happy last night. Now I just feel awful and sad…
I know! Hopefully the doctors in Frankfurt will do wonder for him so they can continue on to Milan and at one point all those people who purchase the ticket for Belgium will get a chance to see them. Maybe after February.

Given that the only other time he canceled an appearance was because he couldn't stand up without being dizzy I think it's likely a similar situation here. Hopefully it will pass quickly. Canceling tonight gives him till Tuesday so if he bounces back quickly he should be able to make it. what show did he cancel?? I don't recall him ever missing a show so I'm curious which one. As we have been discussing over the past couple of days it wasn't a show. It was an appearance at an awards gala in Sweden where he was scheduled to present an award and may or may not have been going to perform one song. He was unable to stand without dizzyness so canceled the appearance but did interviews in his hotel the next day. When the interviews were seen later you could tell he wasn't feeling well, pale and lacking in his usual energy. |

I listened to the videos from last night so I don't think whatever he has is related to his voice. He probably has the same flu that Brian had but he expends a lot more energy during these performances than anyone else on stage so it's harder for him to perform in that condition. If he sleeps and hydrates he should be fine by Tuesday.
You can hear it clearly when he sang Save Me. In some part of the song, his voice's a bit raspy and heavier.
Anyway, it's confirm that he gets a severe bronchitis. It's must've been hard to sing with it.
Gosh, I had a chronic bronchitis more than a decade ago and had it for 2 years. I cough so badly if affected the pressure on my eyes and the doctor said if this keep going on it could cause blind. The cough caused some damage to my throat. For 2 years my throat couldn't accept anything that's not soupy. I'm sure what Adam has now are different than mind so hopefully we can expect him to be on stage again on Tuesday. It's Milan, Italy. Adam loves Milan.

Severe bronchitis usually comes with lots of cough which lingers for weeks... Question to our resident singers/performers: how do performers deal with that?
Bronchitis -- sometimes referred to as a chest cold -- occurs when the airways in your lungs are inflamed and make too much mucus.

CODEINE  ETA: When I was younger, and a smoker, I would get bronchitis with every cold...and every cold going around, I would get. The dry hacks would last forever ....thankfully, Adam is much more resilient and healthy in that regard...and quitting smoking made a huge difference. But.... if you need to stop coughing for a spell of time, a good dose of codeine will stop the coughing in its tracks...you cannot even make yourself cough....it is not for long term, but magic in the short.... It is almost like taking prednisone when you have rheumatoid pain....you suddenly realize the pain/coughing can be controlled...and one shouldn't always even know that...:( |
