Morning musings....Sam Smith has the best team ever.. I mean It was like a musical blitzkreig.. swooping in from England,on SNL,articles about Sam everywhere,Magazines, interviews and then Bam Grammy Court where royalty ,Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga declare him a member of the highest musical court in America.Medals galore awarded to this new guy... .. Ok Stay with Me is a Nice Song... but initiated into the ruling class with lightening speed...Hum.. Sam has some awesome managers, producers,PR people .. I mean come on.. He not a singing super man hero type...AT ALL. Did read an article on Sams' rapid ascent in the NYTImes... talks about his camp's strategic plans for famedom. Let's just say BRILLIANT. Now I want to throw in a little upset with my love Adam.. Please don't ban me from Adamtopia for daring to lick Adam when he's down. THe only & I mean only thing that bothers me in Adam's otherwise steller performances is his tongue action.. And now that tongue action has probably helped him contract bronchitis..Does his ever ready tongue gymnastics bother anybody else. I swear, maybe I'm prudish, but I turn away.Miley drove me crazy and now our guy.. Please just stop Adam.. bad for your health and my health too.. OK well thanks for listening got as lot off my chest.. GET better Adam you are LOVED ,NEEDED and DESIRED Can we just say that sometimes less is more? A little tongue and some suggestive moves, but i dont need to be beaten over the head with it. Even watching our own threads often more attention is paid to the antics than the stellar vocals. If it can be off putting to us hardcores, image the uninitiated. Where is that couch to hide behind.

I'm also not of fan of the tongue action, but I'm not sure licking the mic caused him to develop bronchitis since he is the only one using it. Maybe. We get viruses/bacteria many ways. I thought I saw Adam share the mic with Brian a couple of times..I could be wrong.. hope so..LOL

Adam is not licking the mic on national television, it's part of the KQ performance and appropriate in that context! He does it once during that performance. Being beaten over the head makes no sense, maybe because we watch everything a million times it seems that way, but we have to stop second guessing him and we have to stop trying to figure out why he didn't shoot to the top of all things music. I still feel America wasn't ready for someone like Adam back than. We all know Trespassing wasn't promoted. So on to the next!!! I don't want to change a thing about him. I love him just the way he is. Just a side note, when I see some of the artists that are beloved and win all the time with less than great voices or character, I've stopped trying to figure it out, to each his own!!!! for the next ERA!

I like that we can discuss and express our concerns and opinions here but he is in control of his career and we are along for the ride.

Count me as one who does not like Adam licking the mic. I consider it gross. Whatever he does goes worldwide these days. If he was going to be a hard rock frontman throughout his career, very appropriate. BUT I gather he is trying to break into the ranks of the top international solo pop artists. His actions I think should be geared for that.

Luke Easton 3ku1 Nov 11 Well America embraces artists like Sam Smith. But got someone who is even more talented @adamlambert in their backyard, and they ignore him. Scroll is your friend: This tweet from Luke Easton pretty much says it all for me. Adam has worked his butt off for the last 5 years. RCA didn't help him all that much and the attitudes about the LGBT community were not as accepting as they are now. In both cases, Adam had created some pretty outstanding music, worked with amazing producers and songwriters, and has been open about his sexuality and brought that conversation into the light. I know that SS has a fan base and is a current media darling but personally, everything he sings sounds the same and reminds of a bawling calf out in the field. Having the right PR team can definitely serve up something and convince the public and the music industry it is good for them. The music business is seriously fickle. Max Martin is producer of the year - I don't expect that to translate into anything for Adam next year when Grammy's are being presented. Have not heard any of Adam's new music and hope it is blasting out of every top 40 station in the nation starting in April. I feel Adam may receive a nomination or two but I am not sure that is enough to see it translating into a little gramophone trophy. (Please universe - prove me wrong on this one.) He has a much better management team and they are working very had on marketing Adam in all the right places but not sure that is enough. Don't know why this process is such a difficult climb for Adam when he has an abundance of talent and personality for success in the industry. Don't get me wrong. Adam is very successful now but there are still so many people that have not heard his music - his association with Queen has opened that door to the multitude of Queen fans. He will win many new fans but personally, I want Adam to shine for his own music and not for his ability to interpret and bring Queen songs to life. There are other members here who are much more connected to the music and entertainment field and have a keen insight into all of the maneuvering that goes on in the business. You have shared information about process and offered some great insight so hoping your crystal ball is much clear than mine at the moment.

In retrospect ,Adam seems to go back to win all that he may have not won the first time around. It's like he looks over his shoulder and says, oops I forgot Glee.. and he's on Glee, Oops judge on Idol.. OK done.. Ya know what I mean.. IMHO Adam will attain all that he wishes for, seems that's how he rolls .. He finally has the freedom, after breaking away from #19 and RCA. Look who is in Adam's corner today, the best of the best, including Max Martin.Watching SNL for a clue..LOL To add Adam is going for longevity.... building, building on a strong foundation.LOTS of faith in the man..

Wow, I never thought Bruno was the whole package, not looks-wise, anyway. Adam looks like a male model. Tall, fit, with a gorgeous face. I also don't care for Bruno's voice. Sounds whiny to me. Hate his lyrics too. And one of his songs sounds like a rip-off of Alicia Keys. And I totally disagree that Adam has not made quality music. Why do you think he got good reviews? Well I never meant Adam has not made quality music full stop. Some of his Trespassing matarial was getting early praise. Its just the combination of quality music connecting with the masses and popularity wasen't their. Maybe the whole EDM thing diddn't connect. But the combination of popularity and quality clearly diddn't chart. And just diddn't resonate. I think people want more grounded music from Adam, more focused on his voice. But he hasen't been in the top 5. He gets lost compared to the Katys, Gagas, e.t.c. Around that 2009-2012 periord. But that said he has become a household name in the UK. It's all about that one hit, and a bit of luck. So well see. Other than two lousy singles played relatively infrequently, no one heard his music from TP, which got a rare 4/5 stars from the stingy RS. That is rating the whole album, not just "some" of the material. So how in the world could his music connect with the masses? Imagine if they released Shady or Kickin' In or even Cuckoo? You know Boy George made a statement to the effect that anything can be a hit if it is played over and over again. Adam never got that chance. How can people buy what they haven't heard? Adam's album(s) were way better than a lot of what was out there. What if that large block of radio stations had not added WWFM after it peaked, it could have been way bigger, setting the stage for IIHY, and then PDs would have been more likely to play TP. Remember TP was the sound that gave Pharell his comeback.
