i'll admit i won't be watching Sam Smith and Mary J -- I don't anything against SS but I have just never liked the guy whinging school of so called blue-eyed soul. i'm thinking he'll disappear good lord is Rihanna singing again?! I remember when she used to do this. And it's Kanye and his elder protege lol! I don't know that he will disappear, but I just can't with the voice going all over the place with no regards for the song. He just doesn't work for me.

I really liked the Dwight Yoakum and Brandy Clark duet too. Don't really listen to country music, but I do like her voice a lot!

I really liked the Dwight Yoakum and Brandy Clark duet too. Don't really listen to country music, but I do like her voice a lot! Dwight is on Warner and has a new song out now and an album soon. His west coast country was a staple in my earlier years. Guitars and Cadillacs.

yeah - I have not truly not understood Sam's success - every single song inspires me to change the radio channel even when i don't realize it's him - an honor he currently shares with that Jonas' Jealous and anything by poor Jason Derulo
Rihanna singing reminded me of why I used to like her music. Ah well.
(Ah Pretty Woman is on -- that will do for a few minutes hah)

Ha! You caught us. I like that Hozier song. Can't say I know anything else. But that is one of the songs this Grammy year that gives me hope for more diversity in the world of radio hits. Now, Katy, get offa my yard or learn to sing in tune. Seemed like a meaningful song, except I couldn't understand the lyrics. Tony and Gaga just nailed it. Hey Holst! Yeah Katy should avoid songs that put her vocal up front and I actually mean that in an non snarky way. Tony and Gaga are strangely fascinating but they apparently adore each other and anything that gets the kidlings listening to music by Porter, Gershwin, Arlen etc has got to be a good thing, no? And yes if you like Take Me to Church - check out some Hozier vids of cuts from album - 'Angel of Small Death' (SNL Live is good); Jackie and Wilson and the first song I heard "Like Real People Do". (And what's up with these Matthew M car ads? It's like his character from True Detective but that's all kinds of weird lol) Agreed about Katy. Reminds me of many years ago when JLo was married to Marc Anthony and they dueted on the Grammys. They sang a slow love song. I LOVE Marc's singing and it just made JLo look really bad. I think there was lots of post-Grammy tee-hee-heeing about the performance. JLo, like Katy, need to stick to fast songs that require more spectacle and not so much singing ability.

PRINCE!!!!
"Albums, like books and black lives, still matter." The man still says what he thinks.
Yeah, Beck - love him!! He (unlike me) has not aged so much
Oh, no - Sia? I've changed my opinion of her over the years to a not great place. Still a fine songwriter though
