I'm old enoough to remember the days when the Grammys were chock full of talent, magic & originality To me there is little excitement nowadays.. I"m flipping channels ourt of boredom.. IMHO Most of these performers wouldn't last on the Broadway stage for more than ten minutes..make that 5 minutes.. Except for the incredible Annie Lennox

hey i'm still logged on from last time. are you guys having a 'you kids get offa my yard evening!' ? i have those evenings. Loved Hozier so much - he's having his honeymoon with success/fame period and that's always delightful to watch. (Have seen him live 4 times in last yr or so - was early adopter and so glad he was able to release his album this year - love the whole thing!) (catches up to current song - oh noes, katy needs to get offa my yard!! lolol) Ha! You caught us. I like that Hozier song. Can't say I know anything else. But that is one of the songs this Grammy year that gives me hope for more diversity in the world of radio hits. Now, "Katy, get offa my yard" or learn to sing in tune. Seemed like a meaningful song, except I couldn't understand the lyrics. Tony and Gaga just nailed it.

Yeah Katy should avoid songs that put her vocal up front and I actually mean that in an non snarky way. Tony and Gaga are strangely fascinating but they apparently adore each other and anything that gets the kidlings listening to music by Porter, Gershwin, Arlen etc has got to be a good thing, no? And yes if you like Take Me to Church - check out some Hozier vids of cuts from album - 'Angel of Small Death' (SNL Live is good); Jackie and Wilson and the first song I heard "Like Real People Do". (And what's up with these Matthew M car ads? It's like his character from True Detective but that's all kinds of weird lol)

I'm SO glad to have something other than party/dance songs, which are finally not the only staple of pop music. I think it bodes well for Adam. People are interested in more variety and not having everything sound the same. ENTER AFL.
