No pop/rock? Now I'm wondering where's the Queen influence on his songwriting.
Certainly pop. Everything points to pop but the question is what kind of pop. I doubt it will be modern pop-rock (like Maroon 5). I am expecting something built around Adam's vocals and his creative spirit -- and that says funk, R&B and maybe house. Since we are living in a vacuum of info, I have nothing but guesses. The only things I am sure of: 1. Adam will be the lead vocalist. 2. He has some collaborators. 3. The album title will be The Original High. 4. TOH will not be a country album. 5. The lead single will be released in April, the album in Summer. 6. Max Martin is the Executive Producer for the album, Shellback is a producer. 7. Many young songwriters were involved with this album's writing camp. We know of two: Tove Lo and U.K. singer-songwriter Joe Janiak. Put this all together, and my take is we know close to nothing, nada. But thankfully, only about 7 - 9 weeks to go. First single is called..YEEEHAW! *snerk*

Adam could easily release his album in the Summer then do something with Q+AL in the Fall. Most of the album promotion will be before the album is released. Plus, they do most of the work well in advance. And a trip to South America + South Africa will only take 2 weeks. ETA: And there are other sources (within Queen "world", not fans) that say they are going to Argentina. Just to add my $.02 this is what I was hearing too. I checked with some connections I have and it was supposed to be all hush hush...My initial source had said October...but my contacts aren't always spot on. It would be a short jaunt. I haven't heard much about South Africa but I would believe Q3 there I did hear a bit about Brian wanting to push some studio work....but it would be filed under one thing at a time and Adam has A3 to do and promotion plus this other QAL jaunt....we'd have to go from there. I have wondered about South Africa since the tweet about a Jakarta show way back (kind of an equator tour) but even more because twitter @warnermusicsa has been showing an extraordinary amount of interest in Adam since the signing announcement.

So we think QAL's going to be one of the headliner of Rock in Rio, SA? Adam's performing in Rock in Rio, SA.
NO, speculation'r'us at the moment!!!! I like your excitement but that might be a big leap at this point although the dates do seem tempting. AND....it is a queen anniversary of sorts: Rock in Rio 1985: Queen - Love Of My Life
I know it's still a speculation but I like to have a big dream for Adam . The tweet said they're coming to South American in September. This QAL tour is so success, being praised by fans and media in US, Asia, Australia, NZ, UK and now Europe. If the Rock in Rio organizer cannot take a chance to bring Queen back to their stage then I don't know what to say about them. {well I know what I want to say but }

There is not anything to connect Queen to Rock in Rio Brazil except it is in mid-September 2015 which is when they are supposed to also be playing Buenos Aires. They announced the initial headliners yesterday....more to come.

Rumored countries: Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. Well, wouldn't that be something. I've always wanted to go to South America. Anyone else??? Guess we'll see.

So, this thought has crossed my mind a year back or so, but I really think something like this could work, so I toss it out, to see what peeps here think. I always thought that maybe a promoter might get the idea to co-sponsor and facilitate both tours (the QAL-SA-tour and a new 'AL-TOH mini-SA-tour'). Not in the sense of any shared concerts, but rather in some shared logistics and resources. i.e. assuming that our thinking here is true, with Rock in Rio for QAL, there is no reason, that Adam could not with a week plus/minus spend some extra time down there, do some own concerts at smaller venues, and piggy-back on some of the resources that he has now established contact with and who would then be in the region for QAL. Hire some of the same equipment, trucks, people, etc. Charge people and equipment in certain weeks to QAL and in other weeks to TOH, what's the big deal? I understand that the people are expensive, because Queen can hire the best, but if they are already in SA and now just stay a week or so longer, the incremental costs may be manageable, even on Adam's tighter budget. Adam would of course be in much smaller venues, but I don't think he is in too small a places, anymore. He could use quite a bit of the equipment, sans the giant Q, obviously. Even the stage B extension could be used, if he is in let's assume 5,000 people kind of venues. With the first single out in April, and the album out in early summer, Adam should have practiced and performed sufficient material from the new album at various promotional events or music festivals over the summer, where he performs just 20-40 minute segments, that by the fall, he could have something ready to start touring. Why not start in SA for a change? Just a craazy thought of mine...or wishful thinking...not sure which. I think I will go with "Just a craazy thought". Seriously, Adam is very unlikely to mix up his solo career with his side project Q+AL. And it looks like they have held off promotion TOH until after the current Q+AL tour leg is done. I think we will see Adam focused on his solo career from March thru August, they return to Q+AL for a trip to South America.

I used to like their songs, but now as soon as I recognized the voice I will mute my radio or change the channel right away. Ughh.. something about his voice get into my nerves.
And if QAL is going to So. Africa (Cape Town & Johannesburg), I think they need to find a bigger arena than 15K , because on his own tour in So. Africa Adam could easily fill those venues (9K-12K, forget the exact number).

Nothing at all set in stone...and not much more than we've heard in press accounts...It's all kind of let's see where things go - Adam has A3 to do...and then this jaunt...but Brian seems to want to push ahead in that direction at least. I think Adam is kind of in a one thing at a time trying to keep the side by side thing going takes focusing on one thing at a time. I have the feeling Rog is a bit hesitant if only due to The Cosmos Rocks... I don't see them making a complete album anymore. In today's time, you can release just a song, eventually maybe 4-5 songs and you got an EP, whenever you are ready for that step. More flexibility that way, and less pressure. Also, you would bring it out under QAL obv. , so that differentiates things right from the get-go. But I understand that Adam is stepping onto the brakes a bit. He needs to get into solo artist mode two weeks from now, after Sheffield and a break, and grow into his own TOH material, just like he had to grow into 'owning' the Queen material from a live performance standpoint. Writing with B&R would seriously undermine that, imo, and also send very mixed messages from a promotional standpoint. I think, if this ever happens, it will have to wait til post 2015. Just my read on things.
