Power and Range doesen't go well on radio these days. Most likely his vocals well be sweetened, that is not to say their won't be vocal upfront songs, I am sure their well be. I think his best niche is pop/rock. I really hope vocal is upfront, if you look at standouts from last few years Adele and Sam Smith, even a Fun were all about the vocals and radio couldn't play them enough. You can have hooky songs that aren't homogenised pop. And I sure hope they don't sweeten his voice (whatever that means) when you have the CEO of the record label citing his amazing voice I don't see any universe where they would monkey with it. Genre aside Adams voice is his signature... But then I know nothing about these things so expect many mileages will vary on this. |

I think TOH definitely refers to music, but not just for Adam specifically, but, in a more general sense, that music is the original high for us all. I think the album, therefore, will fuse a retro feel (referencing the past when Adam is saying music itself was enough to create a high feeling) with modern sounds and technology. I think his voice will be front and center, that it will be pop/rock/funk and likely some additional genre fusion we haven't imagined to make it fresh and innovative. I think Adam's picture will be on the cover, but that the lines will be obscured with his expression contemplative to depict his being transcended by his art, music. LOL, I'm probably way off base, but these are the thoughts I've had when imagining what TOH will be like.

I'm hoping that Adam's new album The Original High is more voice centered,less everything but that gorgeous voice.. seems to be that many audiences want more great voices and great songs than shtick.. Like Gaga at the Oscars...like Adam with Save Me...
Can't deny real talent...

After many years of reading and thoroughly enjoying Adamtopia, I've decided to register and make a first post in happy anticipation of The Original High. In terms of the production style, genre or theme of the music, I've got no predictions or preferences - as long as it produces a big clutch of hooks and hits of course. Can't wait for Adam to debut/promo his new music and I find myself strangely excited at the thought of getting back to the mysterious, but fascinating, matter of radio adds, rotations, spins, bullets, chart positions, sales figures etc.
Many thanks to all whose work and input make Adamtopia so enjoyable and informative.

Is anybody else having problems downloading the multicam shows from mega? I have tried for 2 days to download the Paris show. In Chrome it gets to about 36 or 37% and then the page displays an "Error displaying page" but in Firefox it says I need the add on which I installed but there is no way to get past that it just keeps asking for it even though it's installed. I even restarted Firefox after installing the add on and it still tells me I have to install it.

Rambling
I'm beginning to wonder whether the lack of quality videos from Krakow might say something about the economy of Poland.
Perhaps the people don't have affordable access to the newer technology.
