The only thing I'm going to say about it is that once Monte asked Adam's fanbase for money, he opened that door....all by himself.

Aww Hoppers, you know that there are always BSCs who will start stuff. It happens in every fandom and there does not seem to be any way to stop them. It just needs to be ignored!  True, but I can still feel 2nd hand embarrassment. Particularly when real people are directly involved. And for a very gray issue to have people who know the least and guess the most to decide to "righteously" engage the actual people involved makes me queasy. We, quite simply, do not know the fully story of what happened with all the backstory and permutations. Not before the bastard album came out, not after the album came out, or what may have been occurring offline within the past few weeks. But many people feel utterly justified in using their own hypothesized conclusions to definitively form very loud opinions. Again, if peeps want to rant within the fandom, ok. But to engage the people involved? Whether you guessed right or wrong does not, IMO, give anyone leave to insert themselves into that situation. #donenow ETA: <looking up> Nope. I don't look at Twitter that much. But if there was stuff that went on between a nearly 2-year old tweet and now we're not privy to it. Nor should we be whether it occurred or not. I *did* say I didn't approve of the reaction. But I sure don't think the stick poking was appropriate either. Others can view what is said here too right??.. anyone I believe can read Adamtopia.. am I correct? If so This may not be a private conversation.. |

But this a conversation between members. We aren't directly sending messages to Adam or anyone else. That's the difference. A benign equivalent would be saying to friends "OMG, did you *see* Molly's dress? Totally didn't suit her". And then saying to Molly's face in a crowded room filled with co-workers and family "Hey Molly, you're too fat for that dress and you look like a tramp". The dress may indeed look horrible on Molly. And, depending on the dress, it could look hooker-ish. But the approach was utterly inappropriate. And then to start eyerolling at Molly when she turns scarlet from embarrassment and starts shouting cuss words in a reactionary fashion and saying just as loudly "OMG, look at Molly, only ONE person said she looked like a tramp in front of everyone. What a bitch". <shrug> Whether or not Monty is completely wrong and/or he and Adam talk or don't talk anymore, to have the fandom poke him and then get all nattery when he shoves back is nuts. My opinion. YMMV. |
