Gossip ..... moving on ! BTW any reviews in London press about last night's concert??? Er, mellie, a little understanding that I'm in another time zone and this was news to me would be appreciated .... without the backseat modding. And you're right, of course, we don't *gossip* at all on this site, we are dedicated only to the music . The whole point of this discussion, that started last night, was Monte's disgusting rant, not what happened between Adam and him three years ago. That started today and totally took it in another direction!

It just worries me to see so many people so deeply engaged and emotionally invested in the whole crap, on both sides of this argument. I am saddened about those, whose wounds are still so much open, that a silly 'can' tweet, that was not even targeted at or initially involving our fanbase at all, just got people all worked up, that in spite of being told that the bridge is burned, they engage. And I don't care who started it.
Rule 1: The bridge is burned. Don't engage.
Come to find on the other side somebody having posted (and still posting) utterly deranged stuff, being insulting to the point of career suicide or harm to his own personal future. I mean, there are people who are presently professionally working with him, or thinking about working with him, and who have now read this. How desperate is he, that he is behaving this way?
Rule 2: If you find another person is out on the ledge about to jump, don't tell him to jump, push him, or pull out the popcorn. Either help him off, or at least remove yourself from a situation.
Finally, I don't think most of us know how it feels to be at the receiving end of a sh*t storm, especially, if your real name and face is attached to it. I value my privacy on the internet and twitter and it deeply concerns me to read here that potentially my neighbor, or boss, or school teacher may be getting a message telling them to get in touch with craazyforadam. 'Brave new world' courtesy of Facebook, Twitter and Co.
And yet, in spite of this, at least up til now, existing anonymity, I know that whenever I found myself under attack by other people here, or even worse, by moderators, how much that has always weighed on me. And quite possibly some of that was irrational, but it still was real for me at the time. If that were a group attack at my real self, rather than this internet persona, it would be way worse and 10 people does feel like a group attack.
People, in general, are way too harsh with each other on the net. I hate swear words, when they are targeted at people, they are not only a sign of helplessness of the person sending the crap out, they are also hurtful on the receiving end.
Rule 3: Be kind.
I am normally one of those, who is not too fond even when Adam is using the B-word or C-word, though he is obviously not directing it AT anyone, just joking around. Not worried about him per se, but just know, that it is very difficult to draw those lines, once you open that pandora's box.
When I find somebody who is throwing every swearword known to mankind into a sentence, I just assume such weakness on the sending side, that I at the receiving side decide not to get offended. But I do walk away.
The fact that so many on twitter and some here found all this ongoing melt-down so entertaining, that bugs me. It was not. It was frightening, as in somebody needs to be worried for his kids and his career. I think I saw his wife somewhere tweeting in the middle of all this, at least the name looked like it, so this is not just a big joke.
As far as the internet goes: Days like yesterday, just separate the wheat from the chaff, tell you who are friends and who are just internet acquaintances.
And I now officially hate twitter, for breaking our anonymity. Thanks Hoppers though for letting me know about it.
ETA: And Nikki, I really liked your post too, just was by tonight so far back, that there were newer ones more freshly on my mind.

Just a friendly reminder that earlier today Q3 said Monte's meltdown was ok to talk about because it is "new" news but she requested that we not rehash what happened 3 years ago. I thought I would post that again for anyone who may have missed it.

I thought I would post that again for anyone who may have missed it. TY! That was kind of my point! The original discussion was his meltdown and attack on a fanbase and even Adam, not what happened 3 years ago! I can be disgusted with his twitter rant for what it was, a vile disgusting rant directed at older women who are fans of Adam Lambert. I'd be just as disgusted if his rant was directed at anyone not even involved with Adam. Last night I figured he was drunk or high & would delete his tweets in the morning. But nope, he just started all over! I think the whole thing was just, for me, a revealing look into his true colors. :(

I think both parties are in the wrong. Adam fans for poking Monte, and Monte for his retaliation. What happened happened. But Monte and Adam are grown men. I am sure Adam is fine and does not need to be defended haha. Personally I don't care Monte didn't betray me, but that's just me. I agree no point in rehashing it.

Thanks for posting... Can anyone tell me what the reviewer was getting at here? "If there’s one failing, it’s that Lambert, while hugely impressive, fails to deliver the light and shade that allowed Mercury to connect with an audience." Does he mean "light and dark"? Thanks for asking. I was going to ask that also. I'm not sure what it means. Any long-time Freddie fans know what the light and dark is? I am still catching up -- and this may have been answered already. "Light and shade" does not mean "light and dark". It is a term that originated with Led Zeppelin -- Jimmy Page used it to describe Led Zeppelin's music -- but to describe the structure of the compositions. Freddie spoke about using this concept in his compositions and many experts think he took it up a notch from Jimmy Page and Led Zep. Regarding the usage in the review -- I am puzzled and believe it is a bit of a mis-characterization of how Freddie used the term. *** , That said, my guess is that Adam's lighter, less aggressive approach to some of the rock songs -- like SCC -- removes some of the darkness from the hard rock songs. To most people and almost all pop fans, this is updating and readily accepted. To hard rock and even more so to metal fans, removing the raw aggression of SCC is not a positive change. >> NOTE: I love the classic Queen SCC, I love the more aggressive/dark Metallica cover of SCC and I love Adam's updated take on SCC. (Last night's was my fav SCC so far because it was more Adam.) But I have broader taste in music than many heavy metal/hard rock fans.

Adam Lambert can't wait to see Madonna perform tonight, but he's having a well-earned rest.
"We played Wembley Arena last night [with Queen]. The audience was on fire," he told us.
But he has his own solo album, The Original High, coming soon. "It's very different than the Queen music. It's definitely a pop album with a lot of R&B, house music influences. But the songwriting is timeless."
But he says this doesn't spell the end for his Queen collaboration. "We have some other things we're going to be doing. It's not the end. It's just a pause button."
I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy to read this. It is what I expected from the direction he seemed to be heading.
