Does Sauli speak English? I've been looking thru articles, youtubes, etc. can't fiind anything. Just curious. Other than his carefree, smiley personality I was wondering if communication between them might be a challenge, or if words simply aren't necessary at this phase of their relationship. lol.

For some reason, I think he does speak English but don't know how fluently. Maybe tantum or zinnia know?? |

Just a quick observation before I head out ..... it is soooo cool to see all the pics and news blurbs that do not preface the relationship news with 'gay' stuff. it is getting the same sort of attention afforded other famous new pairings and that is such a huge step forward for N. America.

Although I don't know about Sauli specifically, most Finnish people speak multiple languages. I've only met a couple people from Finland - 1 spoke at least English, Swedish & French (and I assume Finnish) and I never asked how many other languages. THe other was a work colleage and he spoke at least a dozen languages - he only considered himself fluent in 7. His definition of fluent was that he thinks in the language as he uses it. In general, the Europeans are much better about languages than we are in the USA, but the Finns seem to be a step beyond even that! |

I had a friend from Finland many years ago in England, and she told me that Finnish is the most incredibly difficult language and that Swedish and English are taught to children early on. I believe the FInns HAVE to speak as many European languages as possible, as no one is going to learn Finnish !!! |
