Cassie, I see, thanks. All is well. This whole range discussion is always so mindless anyways. During that cheesy movie there was somewhere a moment where I thought I heard a bit of the new evolving voice - but it was way too short to be certain. I thought, wow this sounds like he is headed for a warm baritone voice and then thought that this probably would be his best chance at a career, because given the wholesome image that he portraits now and his quest to continue along this path, he will need such a voice to be able to sing any authentic material. If he would develop a very raspy or a very soulful voice or whatever else, it would go against image. Something like that matters so much more than range. He has good rhythm and natural performance instinct - that will stay with him. But his technique, at least what they showed in the movie was horrible. And I mean breathing, sound formation, projection, that kind of stuff. Obviously, right now it is impossible to tell whether he will ever be on pitch. The fact that he is not right now means nothing. But I do think that the fact that they let him perform (incl. loud screaming) during his vocal transition means to me that these experts he has surrounded himself with are anyways dimwits. Anybody I have ever met who was experienced in classically trained voices said that during transition from boy's voice to man's voice the vocal cords need to mostly rest and only be gently exercised. True for women too. Charlotte Church ruined her voice because she did not listen. Fame and fortune at the time (age 14-16) was more important than a career later. And I recall many opera singers at the time stepping in and telling her so. She gave up a potential top level career for 15 minutes of fame. And AI is on a quest to find the future Adam Lambert among 15 year olds. I wish them good luck, but really, I wonder whether the vocal coaches on the show tell the kids what they are doing to themselves, if they sing full force while they are in transition. Somebody should tell them. ^^^^^^WHAT SHE SAID ^^^

Speaking of the DVD - we were, weren't we? How do these live concert DVD's usually sell? IOW-how many units sold would it take to make the project a success? Worry-wart me wants enough sold to make TPTB happy because evidently they listened when Adam's fans clamored and even petitioned for a concert DVD. I hope the demand is there - the only gauge I have is watching the Amazon listing and it isn't doing real great there at the moment. Perhaps it will sell more when the release date is closer. I'm like that little doggie on the TV commercial who worries about his bone. worry.worry.worry. that's me. You ought to worry about something else. This will make money. So what is it that we should worry about? ???

Sauli is 5 years younger than Adam. Don't know how much, he'll be able to keep it together for Adam. I have found that most young adults don't really mature and have full final reasoning capabilities until their late twenties and early 30's, when the frontal cortex in your brain finally has developed. But this is going to fun watching this relationship either blossom or bomb. But Adam is ready!!!! Also I think he has been in the gay community for so long, that much or some of the BS that occurs has become quite jaded for him. Someone other than a young man born and raised in the US provides a fresh perspective for him, just like it did when he first delved into his sexuality in Germany. Sauli was 22 in 2007, when he did Big Brotther in Finland. His BD is next month so that means he is turning 26. So, only a 3 year difference in their ages. Thanks for the info, I thought he was in his mid to late 20's too. I LOVE their energy together (plus Aries, Aquarius is a good match) and they look so darn happy in the photos at the airport. Lucky, lucky Sauli :D

Its from Burning man and if you can see the glasses he's wearing are the same as savvy's avi and also the dress is the same he wore when he was dressed in drag. Freedom of expression at Burning man!!!!

Thank you for that assessment of Adam's vocal prowess, cassie. I really don't know much about the technical aspects of music, but you clearly do, and thanks to you I can memorize enough information to have ammunition the next time some idiot says there is nothing special about Adam's voice--or worse, "all he can do is scream." When someone says that, I think it's only fair that they be quickly and thoroughly killed. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I also don't get the problem with playing WITWIGNAFL; it's not like anyone is flying to the country where he may or may not be. It's just part of visualizing the happiness and adventure he's experiencing. I don't doubt for one second he has found a wonderful, secluded place with lots of security. (And a hut on stilts surrounded by crystal-blue water, where hot cabana boys bring them fresh fruit and lobster via canoe, but I digress ...) I don't see how it's any different than us knowing he's on the town in Tokyo or Paris and speculating that he's "living in Hollywood," those are all big areas and doesn't mean anyone is going there to stalk him. It's just another game of fun speculation – experiencing his adventures vicariously as we did with Glamnation. ITA. And I'll bet those hands are out of his pockets! ;D Here, here! To fun speculating and living vicariously, on a So. Pacific vacay, through Adam's adventures!

Yeah, wow, Wal, I've never seen that before. Craazyforadam, LOVED your post. Really interesting insight into Charlotte Church, etc. That's wild. Trying to pay "semi" attention to Idol just to see how the whole thing shakes down. There are a few talented kids there. Show stopping? Not that I've seen. It's just so amazing that a singer that performed with the highest caliber Broadway and musical theater performers, had to still jump through all those arbitrary hoops in order to find his audience. I remember reading a story on Broadway.com early on in the AI8 season (first Google) when other theater performers were talking about him and they used to warn each other, "When you go in to sing with that guy, watch out. You are not going to believe it." Or they would hear him singing through the vents and say, "Who the hell is THAT??" But then thing is, he didn't rely solely on his voice, which he already knew was beyond exceptional at a uber-professional level. If he had top-tier theater talent intimidated, this amateur show should be a cake walk. But he didn't assume anything. He kept pushing. He strategized. He made friends with everyone. He supported and empowered other contestants. He planned everything within his creative control. He played the game like a master. I usually have some distaste for reality stars, but I have to give him kudos for being so shrewd. And maybe, in a way, that's part of how he and Sauli bonded. They played similar games, but maybe they saw the whole situation from a human psychology standpoint? Just a thought.
