I hope I get my gift card. There has not been a peep from them since I donated. I got this email on March 25th and replied back with my mailing address. I am a big Robbie Williams fan and for me he can't do wrong. But singing Queen and especially Bohemian Rhapsody wasn't his best choice - lol!  He's still a big star here in Europe and we love him more for his showmanship than for his voice. His voice is (normally) really good but far from perfect. Robbie is the born entertainer, he sings wonderful pop and swing and when I've seen him last year live in Berlin, he was SPECTACULAR! He is a very open, charming, funny and vulnerable person and went through lots of bad stuff in his life, but he's overcome all of these obstacles and his fans love him especially for that. Strange that I love Robbie AND Adam - they couldn't be more different ETA: And with saying that they are different I didn't mean that Adam isn't funny, vulnerable or open ...
I think you can love a singer and still admit that there's certain thing that he cannot do. He's human after all. Adam can do almost everything, but RAP and bip boxing. LOL. I still remember when he tried to do bip boxing with Blake.. haha

The clip from youtube was from the opening night of the tour and we all know that that brings stress, so that might be the reason Robbie isn't at his best here. I have seen him in concert several times over the years and he is an amazing performer. you know you are going to have a great time when you see him in concert and leave with a big smile on your face. But i think that if Rob was the new frontman of Queen there would be lots of negative reviews, with Adam being the new guy he got Great reviews. Rob is another kind of entertainer than Adam is. I think that if i was in a Queen + Robbie concert i would see Rob as Rob singing Queensongs with Roger and Brian being "just" guestmusicians. When i was at the QAL concert, Adam (with still being himself) was living the Queensongs, it was a threesome with Brian and Roger, it fitted like a glove (and yes you may know that i was skeptical before the concert, I didn't know Adam (only from WYWFM) and being a big Queen and Freddie fan, i was very curious how Adam would do it, but as I said before, he had me after the first song, I listened with my mouth open the entire concert. He just was Queen (not Freddie or something), he was 'Queen-Adam' (next to the Solo-Adam)
I think whoever assumed that Robbie would be the new frontman for Queen just because they did single together, they read too much into the collaboration. Brian & Roger are not foolish. From that collaboration they see that his voice/range cannot handle Queen catalogue and after the working with PR, I would think they're not going to go thru that for the second time. From a short time they worked together with Adam for AI finale, Brian and Roger immediately saw that Adam can do Queen song perfectly. Brian said that time, "that's an amazing instrument he has". AKA, his instrument can take on Queen songs.. LOL.

Thanks for posting that. Much better than the BoRap. I spent a little time poking around in his YouTube channel but was in a rush. Mostly I was seeing old stuff from 1999 and 2002. I also listened to some iTunes snippets of his greatest hits album. I still don't recognize any of the songs, but he is definitely worth a listen. I can see why his is very popular. The BoRap YouTube must be just a weird, bad performance. Just throwing my 2 cents worth in, again..haha...I like quite a bit of Robbie's music and own some. We addressed his stuff not long ago but in the context of 'singing along' at concerts. It seems to be the British way/preference...and mine...that fans sing along at concerts when they know the songs...it is a 'sign' of engagement and appreciation. Not everyone here likes that, I remember  I do...
I do too and pretty sure the singer/band on stage likes "singing along" very much.

So maybe we can now get the announcement of the additional South America concerts....soonish.... So glad that it sold so quickly, not that I doubted. I just had lost focus on it while everything else was going on.
Is this our Dan for the QAL? I hope he's going to this RIO.
