if it is meaningless, why are you bothered by the result? It's apparent because you have made a similar response every day. LOL every day? hardly but you're right I have made a few comments and the reason it bugs me is because it skews the results of the poll being put on by that site, who are probably legitimately interested in who ROCK FANS think is the better drummer. It is meaningless because it has nothing to do with Adam. It gains him nothing so what is the point? I appreciate your position, I did not vote in the poll but, and this is just my opinion, I think if you would just express your opinion without chastising others you might actually change someone's opinion. I'm done now. It's one of my personal rules that I won't keep repeating my opinion in hopes that anyone will change their mind. I just hope they will consider what I had to say.

I find that when someone repeatedly makes the same point again and again, I tend to start dismissing what they say. I figure they are obsessed and lack the ability to see things from different perspectives or accept that others may think differently than they do. This lack of objectivity and flexibility make me view their statements and opinions with suspicion or ignore them all together. This is true not only of folks who post online, but of politicians, ministers, advertisers, and meddlesome family. They would be much more effective in presenting their thoughts if they did so rationally, with facts and data and other supports, without attacks, insults or sweeping generalizations, and then allowed me to examine the information and come to my eventual conclusions.

I could go back and count the number of times I said this (which I think was only 2 or 3 in response to different things said here) but really, that's childish because who cares, really? However, I saw plenty of others say it was meaningless too (while they were still going to vote for Roger *out of loyalty to Adam ), just not with the added bonus of being irritated that people were skewing the results, which renders the poll pointless from the perspective of the people who actually want legitimate results.
There is no other way to see cheating, other than cheating, sorry. Roger didn't legitimately win that poll based on his talent as a drummer. He won it because Glamberts wanted him to win it because "he's nice to Adam". Mindlessly voting, based on anything other than merit gives an unfair outcome. It's how Adam lost American Idol.

So, you are saying that those of us that voted for Roger are cheaters? I guess I cheated then because I legitimately think that Roger is a better drummer.

You are absolutely right--I'm not sure how any such poll on the internet could be considered legitimate. A site like that is open to anybody: it isn't a passworded site where only rock aficionados/fans can read and vote. And how would we know that those voters are really qualified to judge the best drummer? Some of them would be drummers and a lot would be non-musician fans. Some people might like to think that only the regular readers should vote, but that's how not the poll was set up. It was just click bait. As you said, there are no legitimate results, and that site can't possibly be thinking that there is anything but FUN for fans and clicks for their site. As a violinist, I can't imagine even being asked to vote for the best violinist in the world. There are certainly top-tier artists, but beyond that, each vote would reflect a personal favorite. And I can guarantee that if pro violinists were asked, they'd name quite a variety of "best" violinists. If classical, non-musician fans were asked to vote, they'd probably have some different ideas. Still speaking as an instrumentalists, I NEVER hear musicians (us) talking about who is "the best." I think that is only something that fans care about because of an affinity for a certain artist. We musicians can dissect someone's performance with critiques ad nauseum, but I never have heard a bunch of us try to determine who is the best ever. Maybe I'm out of synch with the rest of the classical world. Could be.

I guess I cheated then because I legitimately think that Roger is a better drummer. if you think Roger is the better drummer then no, you didn't cheat but anyone who voted for Roger based on anything other than his drumming ability cheated that site out of legitimate results on their poll. Not sure why everyone is so up in arms over this opinion, but piling on me the way you are isn't going to make me back down if that is what you guys are hoping.
