Hug to Irish1139 Note to self: Learn lesson from Irish1139 and never ever EVER suggest in the Atopian forum that Adam might want to apologize about something. Stick to effusive praise. Much easier. When he does something that I feel warrants an apology, by all means, I would say so. This just isn't one of them. 1. I will bet you $100 that if Idol (instead of an interviewer) had asked Adam to appear and comment on the Idols he would have bent over backward to be nothing but kind to every one of those kids and still levy constructive criticism in an intelligent, useful, sweet, and gracious way. He would never have said on television that "he was over James or anyone else." Adam is the most caring, gracious, intelligent, sweet man I have ever listened to. I have heard him speak for two years on various subjects and people. I happen to think he was careless in his opinions this time. I read those remarks. I did not hear him say them. If he was speaking with his usual gracious spirit, it did not come across in the words written by the interviewer that I read. 2. If you think Adam didn't raise $325,000 because his fans adore him, I have some swamp land down here in Florida to sell you. That money was raised with love for Adam on his birthday from people all over the world. You may think his fandom is miniscule, but I sure don't after that little project that brought water to 16,000 people. I refuse to speak about this again. Analyzing this subject has exhausted me. Frankly, I don't give a flying f*ck who wins Idol. I think there are a bunch of kids, with a little seasoning, who will all be successful in whatever they chose to do in life. I am over this. Goodnight Gracie.

I have been voting several times this evening and noticed a small increase. From 50.42 to 50.57 www.q102.com/pages/ultimate-idol/index.htmlYour last comment about good coaching is something I personally feel very strongly about. I've been one of those gifted children, but not in music in another field. So I agree with personal experience that too much praise is very damaging. I became one of those that felt too much pressure to live up to the expectations of perfection and grumbled badly. Jojo, interesting comments. I'm sorry that you were the recipient of unbridled praise. Most people don't realize how damaging it can be. It can make some people quit because that feel they can't live up, so why try. In addition, the praise needs to be specific: "The breath control you did in that first phrase was excellent." Praise should not be all-encompassing for the reasons we have both cited: "You are soooo amazing!!!!!" That is wishy washy and can make a person feel that everything about them (skills, personality, etc.) needs to live up to similar repeated comments. That is so true about the praise also needing to be specific and something you can use to develop. Also when someone does well, it is good to get advice how to still get even better and what to pursue next. Example "You did this so well so the next logical step for you is to definitely start learning this new thing." I was never given that only admiration from my teachers. But the worst was how I was made the perfect example to compare other students against. If others didn't know how to do something I wasn't even asked if I could do it the teacher would just say "Okay Jo you do it." or "Jo would you show to the others how it's done." or "Well at least Jo knows how to do this." I admit I could do it 99% of the time, but the few times I would have needed help I couldn't ask, because I felt I didn't have the right to not know. Also the teachers reactions to the few times I failed are some of my worst memories. The "What happened Jo." "How did you make this mistake." "You should have know this." All said with a very surprised and disappointed tone. Sorry to rant this clearly brought up some bad memories. :-[

This is so much fun. We are all so different. From conservative to liberal, from prude to pervert. I had so much fun last night with that turtle video. I am sorry if I offended anyone. I am old and I don't care what I say anymore. The last two years have changed me, and I really try to curb my mouth. I remember old ladies like me when I was a young girl. I never thought I would be one, but I am. I argue now, swear, and just rip off any old thing. I really don't mean to offend. Even my sex life is better now that I am an old lady. My husband is blaming it on watching "Big Love." He says he can't help himself. He is old too.

If he didn't apologize for scandalizing people at the AMAs, yuk, yuk, why would he even consider apologizing for an OPINION that wasn't cruel or premeditated, simply an opinion. Nobody cares that I will tell anyone who will listen that I hate Casey and wish they hadn't saved him the first time. And it will really hurt my feelings - on my birthday, no less - if you tell me my opinons don't count as much as Adam's. I'm very sensitive, you know. Happy Birthday Aspen.. since I don't want your feelings hurt on your Birthday.. I will just have to "blow smoke up you a**" how about that.. JK... but I am going to agree with what you said anyway... Adam was very generous with his praise as well as being rather gentle with suggestions.... *don;'t get why there is even a problem* I have more to say about it.. but, I am feeling "the horse has died" now.. LOL Just popping for a short bit, so am not all caught up on the conversation, but on the "dead horse" issue I want to add a comment. (Apologies if this has already been said 100 times...) I think the fuss and bother comes from the "over it" phrase. When he says it in the interview it appears it is in answer to a question one can't really hear, then he makes comments about JD. The written version of the interview does not print the question the "over it" comment was answering either, so it does not come across well and people keep making negative assumptions. Just a plain old communications mess. peace&love

The Official Adam Lambert site has a link to purchase tickets to the concert in Russia. Won't it be wonderful for all those in attendance to hear Adam live. The list of those planning to attend represented all different countries. I really enjoy the international fans here too.
