I don't advocate for anything that is obviously spamming. So I would say don't do it non-stop and use your best judgement. I got confirmation this morning that only on-demand streaming on Spotify counts for Billboard, and that shuffle play really isn't on-demand. Think about it: With shuffling your playlist, you do very little...and just let it go. With on-demand, you have to actively search out a song or artist, select it and play. I've just passed this info on to Q3 as well via PM. I just wanted to know the rules about how many GTs can be played in a certain period of time to count for BB. It'll take a long time to play it 1500 times if not played a lot. If only 1 or 5 or 50 spins count per day, that would be good info to know. Hopefully Q3 will explain about "on demand". I don't see anything termed that at Spotify. I don't shuffle my songs. I have a short playlist of a few favorites and it plays each song in the playlist one after the other and around again. So, I take it that playlists aren't needed and GT played as part of my playlist won't count for BB...looks like I have to search out GT manually and play it....over and over and over as a separate individual track? This seems strange. I might well be wrong but I thought it was 100 plays = a single equivalent and 1500 = an album equivalent.

I've just passed this info on to Q3 as well via PM. If you have confirmation, then that's what I'll try to do for a while to help the song out in the early stages. But it does seem odd to me. Don't most people use Spotify by letting it just randomly stream/shuffle or by listening to an ordered playlist? Does that mean that all the visible Spotify numbers result only from someone manually selecting a song each time? I wonder if there's a separate calculation of listens that they use to pay the artists? Also, I thought one hope was that "Ghost Town" would be added to some user's popular playlist (maybe it's even possible to make deals to get the song included on such a playlist?). So when the thousands (hopefully) of people who listen to that playlist hear "Ghost Town," their stream of the song from the playlist won't count toward the Spotify numbers since it's not an on-demand listen? Inclusion on those types of playlists is only good for the exposure it brings but doesn't affect Spotify rankings?

Ghost Town will drop at 6 AM where I am So this tuesday I will
Get up Get dressed Avoid visual contact with any device that can connect to the internet Withstand the temptation to take a quick look at my phone Take deep breaths Remind myself of this post Get out of the house and the morning routine chaos as quickly as possible Take the train to work Handcuff myself to the train to make sure that I will not find my finger accidentally pressing 'play' after the words 'ghost town' Find a kind stranger to release me when I'm at my destination Find a nice quiet place with wifi And let myself be transported to Adam's world It will be bliss
(And then the hardest part, try and get my brain together again for what is going to be a very important day at work. It is weird to think about the fact that this week is going to have a wednesday too).
Oh and I Shazam'ed Ghost Town already (oops). The good news is, it found the title within a second or so, very very fast indeed. So it is in the database, and also an instantly recognizable song. I is good to wait to try because it is not very convincing to Shazam a song multiple times, because Shazam is what you use if you hear a song you like but have no idea what it is. And then Shazam will tell you. If we all Shazam it now, we won't be able to do so later, because it will be obvious that you don't need to Shazam a song that you have already looked up before.

That's what I was thinking. Just don't Shazam GT until given instructions. Do you know how often we can play GT on Spotify and have all the plays count. In other words, I wouldn't think you could play it by itself over and over, day in and out on replay...like does it need to be part of your several song playlist and how many plays count per day, etc. I'm not a streamer and am only doing this for GT and for the album later. - The full list of what counts for the Hot 100 is on page 1. There are two lists, the Hot 100 streaming list and the Billboard 200 (album) list. For the Hot 100, if you play the entire song, some of the non on-demand stream count. - I really don't think most fans will be using shuffle play on any streaming service because you can't play a specific song. - Regarding how many times you can play a song in a row and have it count -- like most things on the Billboard chart there are - Just so we do not all get totally fixated on streaming....sales and radio airplay matter more for "Ghost Town". "Generally speaking, our Hot 100 formula targets a ratio of sales (35-45%), airplay (30-40%) and streaming (20-30%)." Link: www.billboard.com/articles/columns/ask-billboard/5740625/ask-billboard-how-does-the-hot-100-work?page=0%2C0The formula now involves dynamic weighting. Which is pretty cool. BUT a reminder, the most important thing any fan can do is buy and gift the single FROM iTUNES.

So, if one had the premium service & can choose any song in a stylist, does that spin count?

If someone would like me to gift GT from iTunes when it's released please PM your email address to me so I can have it ready to send to you when we get the song. Remember that you need to make sure you redeem it from iTunes for it to count. Reminder: Please buy your GT copies from iTunes and Amazon using Adamtopia.

Doing a 180....Adam just liked this pic of Jacob Bixenman. Some think that Jacob and Evan Wood were at Adam's house last nite along with Joey. That looks like maybe Adam's kitchen stove....lol instagram.com/p/1q1Y89Rk_P/

Just specifically play "Ghost Town" -- meaning search for it and play it on Spotify, RDIO, YouTube, any service posted on page 1 and it will count. If you use Spotify FREE or RDIO FREE service on a phone, you need to either pay for Premium to select a song, or play "Ghost Town" on YouTube. There are a couple exceptions to the but this is the easiest way to be sure you are DEMANDing the song -- that is selecting it.
